2005 ZX-12R Part Interchangeability
I'm having a lot of problems finding parts specifically for a 2005 zx-12r.
Can anybody confirm for sure that the 2005 is 100% identical to the 2004 zx-12r?
I believe it is but need to make sure before I start ordering parts.
These parts are for a friend that lives in India so I cannot look at the bike in person and I don't know the B3 model well enough that I would recognize small differences anyway.
Specifically the parts that I need to make sure interchange are:
- BMC Air Filters
- Carbon Fuse Cover, Hugger and Ram Air covers.
- Service Manual (can't even get this from Kawasaki?)
- Brake Pads
I thought I read somewhere that the '05 brakes changed, but I might be wrong and thinking of the radial mounted change in '04?
Any help appreciated....

I have never seen a difference between the 2004 and 2005 in the parts manuals (other than due to paint color) nor ever read of a difference at any time. The radial brake change was indeed in '04.
However I will give one caveat to that and that is that the 2005 model does not in fact have the front brake rotor diameter that Kawasaki says it does. So I cannot say for a fact that it must be the same as the 2004, as I have no info on the 2004's diameter.
However, the online parts manual (click on "Order Service and Owners Manuals for your Kawasaki" even though that's not what you want to do) could resolve whether they are the same part number -- I'd be really amazed if they are different though. EDIT: yes they are the same part number.

I'm sorry dude, its not like I said "Thanks Bill Smith of 123 Any Street, Sandy Cove, Alaska, phone number 1-555-1111. SSN 500-00-0001" LOL.
If it helps I'll publicly state my first name is "Bob".
Shit, "they" are going to find us now. How many Bob's and Bill's can there be? LOLRAF

Not a problem on this board... on the other board, actually for the one extremely obnoxious individual (you will agree on that point) that there would be quite good reason to not want to have one's name and/or address, the first name alone would have been sufficient for him to determine the rest, as I had mentioned a fact that was not quite unique but true of very few people, only a handful, none others with the same first name.
Anyway, I've always thought it better not to post people's names (even only the first name) if they never do themselves. No big deal though.
