OH Dear Oh Dear, Just got home from Maxton!

AT Maxton, Oil down, Breakage and NO NOS> I never rode the Bike! Randall made a total of 2 passes on Saturday and we were there from the start! SUnday was a LOT Better, I tuned the bike on the Grid and he made 6 more passes. Ran great for Motor Only 189 with 215 Gearing 19 / 45 (Had 19 / 43. The LTC Lock Up worked Great Thanks Entropy, The Data Acquisition worked great thanks to Dave Owen, The BDE SIdewinder worked fine making close to 170 HP with a 10.5 to 1 compression NOS Motor on 115 Octane, but no NOS. I will figure it out of it will go into the trash and I will become like everyone else

Almost forgot to say that on the way home above Richmond, at about mile mark 115, a LARGE White / light colored Dear "Tried" to beat the Old Chevy Astro Van! I guess it was not in the stars for him because he will never have Guts to do that again. The van did take a hit with the headlight hanging out and half the grill missing and a large dent in the Drivers Door. (We did have that eye contact just before the moment )

Vince I really hoped you would run 220 or some kind of crazy number like that. I'm very sad for you that this didn't work out again

Perfectly SAID and how I felt!

Everyone there that heard the bike knew it was really running perfectly but "ZERO" Nos Hit! I spent a lit of time working on the Fuel delivery because I thought that was the problem and it worked perfectly. The problem was, I had no NOS Flowing through the system. Even OldKawboy brought his green hat to be there when we went fast!

On the way home thinking about everything and remembering the "Fuel Pump" problem where the bend in the fuel line was causing the problem, I am now thinking that maybe the severe Bends in my setup in the air box may be causing the NOS to freeze up and actually block the flow and when the bike returns and everything has warmed up no problem. I plan to spray a "Few" 10 pount bottles through the system and find out. Now it is personal. SInce there is always a "Next" Time, I will "KNOW" If this works or you will see a totally different system on my bike period! 1 year on this is enough and truly I have had enough!! (Not to quit but Maybe ???? Switch and for me that is MAJOR!!!

Sorry about your troubles, but look at the brite side, at least I will be there next time when you finally get 200 next season. Any pics? I see Ali didn't get his 200 either even on nitrous... Maybe next time.

Yes, Finally! What do I owe you?? Send me a PM or E-Mail where you want me to ship! Since I am going to 5 pounders, would you like to borrow one of mine for over a year?? Thanks Steve, Your Bottle also have set several records on Bikes OldKawboy's sons were riding when they ran out of NOS!

I was originally geared 19 / 43 and changed to 19 / 45 so "IF" I got the nos to work, we would be OK!

Vince Hill is a Dummy and I can prove it! K I S S Keep it simple Stupid.

Tonight I did what I should have done a year ago (or more) I hooked up a 10 pound bottle to the nos system and sprayed! Man 0 Man the NOS Came out! Nothing to do with the NOS Lines! I sprayed again and had to stop for fear of freezing the parts and breaking them. SO what is wrong?

Then the Dummy (Me) got the idea to see what happens with the 2.5 pound bottle hooked up to the system. Same pressure (About 750 PSI) and I hit the Button and a big spray comes out and then almost nothing (Compared to the 10 lb Bottle) SO little came out I could see in the Air Box!

Now I know why Jim Owen, Jon Wennerberg all went to 10 Lb Bottles. I also saw that the Air Temp sensor is in the cold spray so it will be moved to stop it from having "ANY" Influence on the fuel. After seeing how much NOS Came out, I am almost afraid to deal with it! WOW . In a few weeks I will have sold my bottles and have a few 5 Pounders and do the same thing again. If I see a big flow then back to the dyno.

"WHY CAN'T PEOPLE FIGURE OUT THINGS LIKE THIS "BEFORE" THE LAST RACE??

I like reading your threads, every time I think about putting the dope on, then I read your threads, and it keeps me on motor for a month or so, then repeat........

I hate to see someone try so hard, and then have trouble like you do......, the sidewinder rocks though dont it?

I know for a fact that with my Beloved step tube I made a Max of 162 HP with this set up. I was at 167 and still rich with the BDE Design.

The problem with spray is KNOWLEDGE. The sell you a Kit with up to 150 HP Jetting and a 2.5 Pound Bottle. You think ! I can make 150 more HP with this set up. Yes you can Spike 150 but not maintain it. To go from there to where I am now you either have to be smart or lucky to do it quickly. It took me 1 year 2 months to figure it all out

See, and everyone was doubting this pipe......., it scavenges so well, when I go down track, everyone (everyone that does not know i am on motor only) claims i am spraying because I am shooting flames out at the shift. (air shifter). This pipe pulls hard........

Good luck working your bugs out........

Uhh, wait, are you saying there was a defect with your small bottle? You must be because plenty of people are using 1# and 2.5# bottles spraying 50-100 even 150 hp. A small bottle will certainly flow enough to feed your system, so it must have had a defective pickup or been clogged somehow? Aside from a slight pressure loss due to temperature changes when the bottle discharges, I see no reason why a 2.5# bottle will not perform the same as a 5#.

Each one Pissed like a Mad Dog (for about 1 second) and then Dribbled like an Old Man after dinner! I will have the 5 pounder this week and be in the Dyno with it later this week.

If things work out as Planned, I will be sending you a few charts to post up with the Numbers getting higher as opposed to "Spike & Drop"!

if you want to do it right, go with a nitrogen over nitrous oxide setup like wayne pollack has been talking about for years.. CONSTANT nitrous pressure regardless of temperature or bottle size. You could do it with a 1# nitrogen bottle over ANY size nitrous bottle.

Actually I am going another way. I have a 20 AMPH Battery and I have it wired to an On Board Heater. I heat the Bottle up to 1200 PSI and set the Pressure Pro to 950 PSI and make the entire run jetted at 950 PSI. This keeps the EGT and A/F constant the entire run. This is what allowed me to finally figure out I could not flow enough NOS (Out of the 2.5 Lbs Bottles) for the Jetting I had in the bike

quote:
Keep your bottle pressure consistent with the new Pressure Pro! Allows you to make run after run with the exact same bottle pressure as the run before!
No more torches and ice bags trying to maintain a consistent nitrous pressure.

Eliminates excessive purging to maintain a consistent launch pressure.

Minimizes or completely eliminates nitrous pressure drop during a run.

Keeps your bike much more consistent on the drag strip

Great for index class racers dialing in the number using nitrous.

Protects your dry-nitrous equipped motorcycle. Nitrous bottles get extremely hot under the bodywork of a street bike The Pressure Pro will eliminate lean-out due to excessive bottle pressures.

Completely adjustable from 500 -1100 psi
Most nitrous bikes today are equipped with progressive controllers capable of adjusting nitrous power application by 1% and applying that nitrous over time adjustable to one thousandth of a second! To get the most out of your progressive nitrous system, you must have consistent nitrous pressure. If you change your nitrous percentage 10% from the run before but the bottle pressure is plus or minus 50psi, what have you really changed?

Still think I need the Nitrogen push system?

Yes, it's cheaper and more reliable. Using that pressure pro only bleeds off pressure, it doesn't ensure you HAVE pressure. That is a problem. Not to mention the cost, and you could just as easily run a 10oz nitrogen bottle in the same space and guarantee constant pressures being delivered.

Actually I think it contols the pressure by letting no more than the MAX setting. When I sprayed the 10 Lbs bottle, it sprayed 950 PSI for 25 seconds twice. I will test it again with the 5 Lbs Bottle and if it can do the same thing, then I am in business. Otherwise I also will look at Wayne's ideas a LOT Closer!

To me, 5# bottles just seem silly. It gets so far away from "streetbike" reality that I can't justify anything over a 2.5# bottle. I know why you're doing it, but personally I just don't think it's necessary. I know, others have been successful with it, but they are not what I would consider a streetbike by any means. That may not be your goal anyway, but for me it is.
