Happy Birthday: Rob Muzzy
legendary american superbike tuner gets cake and candles

Thursday, October 20, 2005
Rob Muzzy, on the far left here in 1981, is a true legend of Superbike racing. Today is his birthday. While he's not as frequent a visitor to the Superbike paddock as we'd like, Rob Muzzy's accomplishments in racing are truly legendary and really need no face time to legitimize. He tuned for or owned teams that Superbike champions rode for for twenty years and the name "Muzzy" is synonymous with Superbike racing and winning. Great bench racing stories abound about Muzzy--say, where is that manuscript for our Muzzy book, anyway?
It's Rob's birthday today, so Superbikeplanet wishes him a hearty congratulations and best wishes.

In addition to his accomplishments on the world championship level, Rainey was also a star of AMA Superbike racing during the 1980s, winning that title in 1983 with Kawasaki and again for Honda in 1987. Rainey's career as a motorcycle racer came to an abrupt end when he suffered a crippling crash while leading the Italian Grand Prix in September of 1993.
