Trimmer from Kawasaki Motor Corp.
December 2003

Kawasaki Motor Corp., U.S.A. of Grand Rapids, MI, U.S. offers the KTR27A String Trimmer that the company says boasts high power at 26.3cc. The key benefit of the product, the company says, is its easy starting feature; it only needs just half a pull to start. The products' engine uses a new carburetor with a slow idle starter device that reportedly prevents the blade from running during start-up and disengages when the throttle is applied. Additional features include a reduced recoil pulling force, a fully covered carburetor, and one-piece fan housing, as well as a new, easy-to-service air cleaner element, and muffler screen.

Just to add to the topic of why Kawisaki builds motorcycles..........Brand name recognition
Copied and pasted of of SPEED
Kawasaki does not seem too bothered about running without a sponsor since the green fairing actually advertises the product Kawasaki races to promote...Kawasaki motorcycles. Kawasaki Heavy Industries has deep pockets and their initial reason for building motorcycles was to create brand awareness for the huge Kawasaki group of companies. The old story tells of Kawasaki executives back in the late sixties realizing on a trip to the US that Honda, a small company compared to mighty Kawasaki Heavy Industries, was a more recognized brand in America because of all the Honda motorcycles about. If that old chestnut is true then Kawasaki built motorcycles for brand awareness. And if that is the case, the last thing they need is a sponsor with other colors and a different name on the side of the fairing.
