Best All-Around Brake Pads for the 12 ???????

What is the best set of pads to go with on the 12? My brake system is stock, no stainless or kevlar lines, and no aftermarket rotors.

I liked the way the stock pads worked, so I had decided to go back with them because my pads are pretty much shot. The rear is gone, and the front pads are not much better. My buddy at the dealership was SUPPOSED to get me a complete set of stock pads, instead he got me some EBC Kevlar Series FA 161, and FA 188 pads. I think that these are probably not the best route to go, in fact I think these are the lower performance line of pads EBC makes. Anyone know for sure??? I thought the 12 came with sintered (sp?)pads from the factory????

I want something that works good and doesn't chew up my rotors, and less dust would be nice. What about the EBC Green pads and all the other stuff I've read. Which way do I need to go, keep in mind I don't want anything that is gonna fry my rotors in a riding season. I have no gripes with the stockers other than all the damned dust, but if I could get something better that won't hurt other components I will.

EBC GFA188 HH are the best, the very best pads, you can get. That said, they are 'kit' pads. For everyday use, the FA188HH pads are very good. They do have more drag than stock pads, but the performance is way above stock pads. Do the s/s lines as well, you'll be amazed at how much more feel and braking power you'll have, with less effort.

Ninjaman, I've had some success with DP HH+ pads for the 12. They did make a little noise occasionally but the improvement in feel and lack of fade over stock was an improvement. I've yet to upgrade to braided lines but that will be next on my list.

Hey swft

Are those FA 188HH pads hard on the rotors????

What about these Kevlar Series Pads I've got??? Think it'd be ok to run them on the rear?

Ninjaman I had used the EBS Green's on my ZX-11's for years. Great feel and feedback, no noise that I can remember. I need to replace mine on the 12 here too and that is the way I'm going.

Well I've decided to...........

I'm gonna stick with the stock pads for now. They work good for me and I really have no complaints, and I can get them cheap. Next time I'll do a little research before I let my pads get in the shape they're in, and have a set ready.

Otis,
I've heard good things about those EBC Green pads. May check into them some day.

For whatever my opinion is worth I had the same thougts about the stock pads. Then I mounted the EBC HH's. The week before I went to Daytona. I was worried about brake fade that I did get when running hard at the other "track" WOW what a difference. I'd recommend that to anyone. I put the Goodridge Carbo Lines on at the same time. They look cool, are cool, and I think they look best on the faster red 12's.

You're fuckin up Ninjabitch

You should have went with the HH pads. The brake lines make a big difference too.you can "feel" the braking force a lot better.I've had my rotors smoking several times.Dave you are surely " Cornfused" because everybody knows the green kawasakis are the fastest! You don't see any of the kawasaki's Teams ZX-12's painted the redontheheadlikeadickonadog color do ya???

I have the Kevlar pads on the rear of my bike. They seem to be ok.

I told you the bitch would start running, just ride it like you stole it. When you get back from daytona we'll hook up and hit some twisties.

Harry,
You fuckin' knob polishin',salad tossin', super fag BIATCH!!! Now I'm having second thoughts on these fucking stock pads. I just don't want to go to some "rotor warpin',noisy ass pads". I guess I may call the dealership and cancel the front pads. They are on backorder anyway. But I'll go ahead and run the stock rear pads. I don't want it to have anymore bite than it already has. Who has the best prices on EBC pads??????

Dave don't let Harry kid you, he knows that the red rules.

You two Bung Hole wranglers in love or what?

HH pads are the only way to go. Don't fuck the rotors and stop twice as fast.

Hey Lube......

No we're not in love. Even though Harry IS gay, he's an alright guy, and I don't hold his alternative lifestyle against him.

Thanks for the tip on the brake pads, seems like everyone is saying these EBC HH pads are the way to go so I'm gonna order a set for the front today.

W.T.F.

Get the EBC "HH" pads and if you warp your stock rotors, I have a pair of EBC Prolite rotors with just less than 50 mi on them. Cost me $410.00 new. I will let them go for $250+ shipping/insurance. My loss, Your gain. har_poon@bellsouth.net
