Techmounts

Techmount answers the question, "Where the heck do I put this?"

As technology crashes headlong with the motorcycle industry, riders are faced with the problem of how and where to attach the accessories they want to ride with.

Techmount is a family run company that was formed in 1995. Owned by HighGear Specialties, Techmount began by solving the problem of how to attach modern gadgetry to motorcycles with their product, the "Stem Stand." Since its inception, the StemStand and its brand name have set an industry standard that is hard to match. Today, Techmount embraces the StemStand under an umbrella of products used to marry Technology to every kind of motorcycle imaginable.

The latest version of the Techmount incorporates a platform that can be used for mounting radar detectors, GPS or even a video camera (using the pre-drilled mounting holes).

Fitting the Techmount to a motorcycle is a simple task. An online fitment chart on a well laid out website spans hundreds of bikes and is very easy to follow. Many modern bikes have a hollow headstock, and for this type of mount the unit slides into the headstock providing a cushioned friction fit with two rubber o-rings.

Other mounting configurations are available, including handlebar mounts, fairing mounts and control mounts (clutch, brake or reservoir mounts). Pieces from the unit are interchangeable and can be custom ordered with stems of different lengths and finishes. All of this combined with Techmount's articulating arm and platform allows you to easily adjust and place your gear in that "perfect spot".

Techmount provides a refined engineered solution to the issues surrounding mounting equipment to motorcycles of all kinds. For it's high quality, amazing design and simplicity Bikeland gives Techmount two big thumbs up. Techmount; a company created by enthusiasts and run by people who ride and are passionate about the sport. Techmount's gear is a bargain at twice the price, and we mean it!

Techmount can be found online at their website techmounts.com

The techmount is an awesome product. We loved it, and everyone who saw them on our bikes thought they were cool too! Everyone here knows we wouldnt stick our necks out online if a something wasnt 110%, and Techmount is definetly that.

Most cameras have a threaded hole to secure it to the mount, but how is my cell phone going to hook onto one?

That's what I'm thinking. cellphone/gps/garage door opener = velcro
It would be a great mount for a camera though

read the PDF at he beginning of this thread... kit comes with Velcro and everything you need... photos in PDF are self explanitory.

They even have a "double wide" version so you could have a GPS and a radar etc etc.

Connman... unit comes with Velcro... works just fine.. ONly issue was cutting a little "hatch"in the velcro to access the adjusting screw on the platform.. not rocket science. We used velcro alone on 3 bikes except for the "streetfighter 12R" which had a control mount for the Techmount. For that one we three a big-assed rubber band around the radar detector as a safety (in addition to the velcro) simply because the radar detector was out in the wind (not behind the fairing like the headstock mount).

i beleive we didn't even NEED the rubber band however, it was there purely as a precautionary measure and I only used it with the bulky V1. The velcro held pretty good. i liked that the positioning on teh streetfighter meant the unit is closer to my field of vision than with a stemstand. this was particularly true for the V1 because of the way the display was angled.

Are these the same as the M-Stands? I'm planning on buying the one that attaches to the inside of the mirror(Hyperdamper prevents usage of the steering stem). Anyone own one of these? Any input or advice before purchase? It will be used strictly for my radar detector.
thanks--jeff

I want one, but, I think I'd like to employ the scenario (i.e., Part Number 31000L) that utilizes the unused mirror threaded hole on the front brake/master cylinder mount. Their website specifies it's applicable to the 12, but, refers to it as "left side." It must be ambidextrous.

I think if you used the brake mount on the 12R it would intersect the fairing? best to get them a call.. they're extremely helpful.

10-4. I'll call them. Now that you mention it, it does look like there is the potential for encroachment when the handle bars are turned.
