I took the day off to tear up sturgis

It's 7 am, not sure if I'm gonna take the XT350 and tear through nemo road, then vanocker canyon into sturgis, or take the 12R and just blow past all the HD's in the interstate.

Once I get to sturgis, I'm doing nothing but test rides. All the big boys brought their semi trailers chocked full of test bikes.

Here's what I want to ride............

Triumph
Speed triple
tiger
rocket ---- I'll give you a full hooligan report!
ST ----oOOOOOHHHH I want one!!!!

Yamaha
FJR1300

Kawasaki
ZZR1200
----not sure what else their bringing
I'll find out what is in store for the ZX12R

Victory
----one of their badass looking custom jobs
I'm sure I'll have trouble swinging my legs forward TOWARDS the pegs, last time I rode a warrior it took me 2 minutes to find the pegs!!!!

I'll be sure to post some pictures tonight if I can figure out how!!!

Vozzy you've been emailed

Ok I only rode 3 today. It was hot, and I mean HOT. It was 101 as a high in rapid city, IT had to be 105 or higher in sturgis. The cottage cheese and flabby boobies were out in full force, although there was some damn nice eye candy. I followed a Big block boss hoss for a couple of blocks. It had a bitchin brake light. When he wasn't on the brakes, it was a rolling LED message......keith black, big block, nitrous, 900 HP, any questions?????. I was going to roll up beside him and ask if he'd like to race for pink slips. I would have surely done it. I'm sure he would have wrecked it, but there would have been some cool parts right??? The 5lb bottle of NO2 was polished up soooo bright, you could tell it had never been cracked.

anywhoo

ZZR1200, uh, kinda blahhhh.....
it was smooth, took off ok, but the seat rammed you forward into the tank. If you're 6'4" like me, it won't work, the damn frame is nice and hot - which is exactly where your knees come to a rest. If it wasn't a group ride, I would have turned around 1/2 way through. nope, not gonna work. It steered nicely, not heavy at all at slow speeds. I still got the windy head bobble at 75, which is why I'm looking more for a sport tourer. This was my second favorite

Triumph ST
seat comfort ok, I think a corbin would totally resolve the problem. Suspension, NICE, maybe it's the way it's set up, but it absorbed all the bumps. Steered like a 12R, not heavy at slow speeds. The engine is healthy sounding, and by far the smoothest engine out there. It made power from idle to redline (it was a very short blipp at redline too - had to shift 75 mph...) It backfired and popped alot, I don't mind that sort of thing.....you definetely wouldn't need to buy an aftermarket undertail exhaust, it's right there what you need. On the intake side of the engine, you got that open airbox noise, you could hear the air........it's hard to explain I guess. I'd like to see the HP and torque numbers graphed out. I didn't like the downshifting of the transmission. Something in there won't let you click down more than one gear at a time, clutch in, down, clutch out, clutch in, down, clutch out, clutch in, down, you get my point. The computer had alot of chit on it, instant miles per gallon, other stuff, but the change mode button was down on the dash, so I didn't fug with it seeing what else was there. Still had the head bobble from dirty air. I don't know if a taller windsheild would help.........this was my favorite.

FJR1300.
1st off, fugger is geared to run 300MPH. Chuggin stumblin POS if you don't slip the holy shit out of the clutch. This is a touring bike???? Seat position, awesome, very comfy like a FZ1. Handlebars, there right too, but the angle at which the bars are positioned made my hands cramp up....??......twisted too far or something. HEAVY ASS STEERING at slow speeds. No thanks on that one. Once you got it rolling, good power, easy shifting. Ok, I was really looking forward to the power adjusting windsheild. Finally we get on interstate, and we merge with a fuggin tanker truck. I'm getting pissed because cooter-ball guide rider isn't passing this ass. I wanna know if my head is bobbling from the dirty air off the truck or if this 18" windshield sucks ass???!!!??? Finally passed it, YEP, my head is banging around violently, and now my crotch is on FIRE!!! Holy hot tank batman, that MOFO is HOTTTT!!!!! So I lowered the windshield to take the full blast of air- and it wasn't half as bad as when it was up. We get back from our ride, and the 3 of us FJR riders were comparing notes. One guy was very up on these things......he said someone had a foam kit to fix the hot air that blasted the tank, and taller wider screens fixed the dirty air problem.

I think I should just buy a corbin seat, bar risers, fabricate some monstrousity of a power windshield, and be happy with my 12R.....or buy a ST and fab the power windshield that thing sounded awesome.

I'll ride more on friday. Got to ride a Tiger, and a speed triple.

fuggin camer focused on my windscreen.
BTW that's in deadwood, at the bottom of the strip.

I tried getting a picture of the saloon number 10, but I was rolling..........
