207 vs 010

Switched to a BT010 about a month ago and have noticed the back tire breaks free when accelerating (not really even that hard) with some water on the road. Coming into work today there was a small amount of water across road just after a toll booth. I use the commute lanes so was doing 55-60 in 3rd. Started accelerating and once I got to the wet area back tire just broke free and started spinning. Happened last week as well on a wet road. Yes I know water on road and acclerating is not a good thing but have been taking this route for years now and never felt it with a 207 on. Just some completely useless (maybe) info for the morn.

I use the same tire and I would start by making shure that you have the correct Pressure. Check tires cold, then after you ride to your destination you should get a 10% rise in pressure (different rides and pavement temp's affect this).
More than 10% starting psi is too low , less then 10% starting psi is too high.

Also the center of this tire is fairly hard....not too hard for an occational dragstrip nite (@ 20-25 psi). It will warmup nicely at the right psi and not give any wheel spin on a spirited scratch at you favorite twisties. Leaned over the traction is AWESOME!!

Hmmmm.......

You do know that the 010 is a dual compound tire and that the center tread is of a harder compound.

In a straight line the 010 will spin easier than a 207, but still hooks damned good IMHO.

...always ran 207s...this my first set of 010s (200/120)...1000miles...mostly sweepers and tight twisties...36~38psi on both...drops in easier on the tight stuff...had to adjust the way I turn-in...almost too 'twitchy' (my control input, not the tires) on initial turn-in for me right now...gotta adjust myself in the way I ride on these tires after the 207s...noticable 'tackiness' on the sides...no noticable wear in the middle...I think I'll like it...do the Pilots have better wear??

Same here............

22348bCVC,
I think the 12 turns in much easier with the 010s also. More like it "should" IMHO. The bridgestones just work well for me. Loved the way they performed at the Gap 2 event, the bike was WAY more confidence inspiring than it was when we had the first event. I was still running 207s @ Gap 1.

Ninjaman...man, I'm sure glad another rider experienced the same feedback I experienced...makes me think that I was not falling into the 'subliminal messages' after reading the tire tests and 'thinking' that that's what the tire is going to do so it must be what I'm feeling and it must be true...nothing like an honest everyman's response...I guess I'm not that 'crazy' afterall and, as FEROCIOUSLY INTENSE as the bike is when its in pure stock form, I'm starting to really notice the subtle and not so subtle changes that I have done to my bike...next stop, Penske rear shock and Racetech fork mods...THANKS!

No problem dude.....

Hey no problem man, it was a very noticable change. Especially when you start pushing the bike hard. Once you get used to them you'll be able to rail even BETTER.

010s

The 010s are the best "Bang for the Buck" for street riding. They grip/handle better then the 207s and should wear better. The other brands are also good but, the cost.

$202.00 to the door!
