assembly lube: who uses it???
i came by a tub of Red Line Assembly lube and wonder about using it. The manual doesn't seem to mention it...???
Q: any of you folks "out there" use it? If so, what parts do you put it on, and do you apply it sparingly?? Liberally??? cam lobes?? valve stems??? gears?? cam chain?? Dare I ask; crank journals?? The ole lady???
Any observations, tips, hints, best practices, etc would be much appreciated.

+1 on madmike's comments
liberally apply it, bearings gears, anything that normally requires an oil film to prevent metallic contact
this allows engine time to get oil pressure up the first start.
i use the black moly engine assembly lube. works great lasts long time.

When I install new Pistons and / or Rings, I use "ND-30" SA rated Oil on the Pistons and Rings so that they will at least have a Chance in Hell0 of breaking in. Then I use the cheapest Honda 10 w 40 I can find "IF" I replaced the Bearings like you are. If no new Bearings, then I use ND-30 for about 50 miles and never go over 4K Rpm (I figure that the Old cars back in the 30's and 40's and even early 50 could handle 4,000 rpms)

Definitely. I even use it on the cam lobes after something as routine as doing the shims.

Karl, This is Bert.
When you met me at HRP I was on a green ZRX and then made the switch to
a ZX.
What I want to know is what has happened to our friend Zack (EZ)
I can't get him to answer the phone and we are tight.
Any word???
I'm sure he's ok.
Prolly in ole Miss.
Just curious.

first start up, pull plugs & run starter for awhile AFTER the pressure light goes out.
install plugs, start...

what's the difference between running the engine 100 revolutions on starter or 100 revolutions under fire? once the pressure is up it's up, and with proper application of the asembly lube there won't be ANY lack of lubrication even BEFORE the oil pressure builds up (assuming you are using the high-pressure moly engine assembly lube)

100 revs on starter without plugs would seem to have much less pressure on moving parts, than 100 revs w the engine running. Just to check everything is fine, get oil everywhere it should be.
