No offense Gunner. I may be an old timer here, (?) but I only post lightly. Too much other stuff going on to be honest. It can be a bit sparse here sometimes though.

PILOT JET MOD!!!

BTW, do any of you .org'ers have any saved info on the Pilot Jet Mod? My engine is out and waiting to go back in, but I was hoping to do that mod first. Seemed like a lot of you were happy with it.

If you do please PM it, or drop it to sportbikeral@hotmail.com THX!

I can get you the info if MarkPMB comes here, or if .org ever comes out of its coma. Most of the guys that run it have the Muzzy pipe and reportedly it helps with the low rpm stumble/hesitation. I am speaking from what I've heard - I run an Akrapovic and have never felt the need for the mod on my bike.

142,756,764 posts on the org, ya must be goin nuts.

It's me, I'm here ....
just reading along though

Hey BA, I took the pilot jet mod off my bike when I sold my Muzzy.
There is a good thread or two on .org about it,
I don't know if it will be there when the site comes back up or not.
I know it crashed one time and I lost a few thousand posts ...really.

If you would like to e-mail me, I'll mail you the one I removed at no charge.
It may or may not help your bike, there have been mixed reviews with the mod.
It is very easy to put on, about a 30 second job since I have already assembled the pieces

It's just a piece of vac line 5" long and a pilot jet shoved up in one end and a plastic splice connector. I'll hunt the exact info and send it to ya. I'm thinking I purchased a couple of spare jets at the time. They're dirt cheap if I can find them they're your's. However MarkPMB is the man with the exact info and I see he's lurking here now under another name. Good to see ya Mark.......

Got your e-mail. I will send it out to you via first class mail tomorrow.
Do you know where it goes?
If not, I'll try to attach a pic. Look on the left side of the bike,
unhook the hose you see in the pic. It will plug onto the tee connector
and then the other end of the new hose plugs on the sensor.
The pilot jet needs to be about 4" ~ 5" away from the sensor.
Let me know if you need any help

Sorry to hear that...

Being a former "rashman" myself... (many times over...) I can tell you to keep it clean
and moist all the time with Silvadene (requires a script) or second best is simply
Vaseline... wrapped with paper towels and tape... it's cheap, easy to change twice a
day, and the Vaseline keeps the paper towels from sticking to your skin...

Works great! Whatever you do, DON'T let it dry and form a scab... you'll have scars, etc...
Keep it all doped up with goo... and while your hand is all lubed up...

Jere

When Doctor Jere speaks - listen. He knows what he's talking about! Seems like at last years rally he was one big scab from crashing his dirt bike.......

isn't that sensor the air pressure sensor? maybe my memory is failing me, but that's what I recall it to be.

Basicly BA The mod is just a needle valve worked out to a given amount of flow, and replaced with a jet. It simply smooths out the signal to that sencor. Stops the signal from bouncing all over the place.
