Living the life of beansbaxter...
I sure hope the administrators of this great forum do not delete this, but I have to tell the story.
As you all know for those who read my post on why I didn't make it to Laguna, my 12 has been seriously injured and in need of some repairs. Thanks to Ozzy's help and guidance, I have been able to get my 12 together in a somewhat decent fashion. The last two parts needed are the chain and the swingarm.
Jason aka wormser from the forum works at the local Kawasaki dealership. The owner was willing to let the two of us borrow the tools from the back in order to help me do my swingarm. Jason cleared out his hectic schedule to make time to hang my 12 from the rafters and do a swingarm swap on it. I have never heard of a dealer willing to loan tools out, but I had everything in order thanks to some good people trying to help me out.
This past Monday everything was suppose to be done and the worst happened...twice.
I won an ebay auction for an oem chain for a 12, and when I went to the Post Office to pick up my package, the box was empty. Burned. I was really upset as I have never been burned from any auction transaction.
I was like well I can make do with what I have, the swingarm was arriving all should be good. To premise this, I spoke to the owner of Monstercyclesalvage.com, Dan, and he said he had a black 2004 swingarm that he would sell me for $125. He shipped it out a week late, apologized and said my next order would be free shipping.
Well, when the package arrived, the swingarm was from a first gen 12, not a second gen. So I called him and explained what happened. After countless emails and holding my patience, to a boundary I never have, for I had to educate him on the entire history of swingarms for the 12. Turns out he was being misinformed by his parts guy.
So he admitted finally he was wrong, apologized again, and just contacted me now saying he is going to ship me out the correct swingarm and he paid $105 to have it shipped in two days air to get it to me here by this Friday. He said I shouldn't have to pay if it was his business's fault.
Then I found out the entire time, he was doing this while he was thousands of miles away from his business on his summer vacation.
For that, I gotta give mad props and a good positive note to this place for they really went above and beyond looking out for the customer. Seems like all the posts these days are complaint sessions regarding various businesses, but this is one where the dealer really did everything they could to make everything right.
Not trying to promote any commercial business out there, just wanted to share how a negative experience turned into a positive one.
