Finally got to race a busa yesterday
Fell in behind one getting onto an on-ramp to the e-way. I saw him look in the mirror at me and he "hunkered" bout 1/2 way through the ramp. I was in 2nd, I have no idea what gear he was in. I was about a bike length behind him when he hit it and I immediately followed. We both shot to the fast lane even though there was basically no traffic and it seemed like I would be stuck right on his tail until I shifted to fourth, then I started to reel him in a bit and I moved to the center lane and "slowly" came up beside him. By the time I hit 150 I had just gotten past him and he backed off. I kept the throttle on to 180 then rolled off. I'm thinking to myself there is no way the 12 kicks the busa ass and no way the busa kicks the 12's ass. He had a pipe on his (that's all I know about whathe's done to his. I have a Yosh & PC, my bike put out 173hp last year.
As I slowed he came up beside me and gave me a thumbs up. It was very cool. In 5 years of owning this 12, I've never had the opportunity to race a busa. I've read all the reports of the busa v. 12 stuff and all the tales of either one or the other winning by wide margins and after getting to actually race with a busa myself, I can say these bikes are pretty damn close, anyway you look at it.
Anyway, if the fella I raced happens to read this, thanks brother, it was fun.

So my 12 is not faster than a Busa?
I have the Cycle World article that says its 2mph faster!?!?!?!?!????

LOL Beans, I didn't say it wasn't faster. I pulled this guy from a bike lenght behind and got in front by the time we hit 150. I'm just saying they are close.
