XM Radio on the ole 12

A friend I ride with here in Spokane has this XM radio unit installed on his Honda CBR. Crazy, but still a good idea. If I could find a better place to install it on the 12, I'd be interested. Since the head unit comes out, you can pull it out and not have to worry about it being stolen. Plus it plugs into the home receiver and the vehicle. Check out the pics and tell me where the best spot to put this on your 12:

You might want to look at compatability with the new soon-to-be-released Blue Tooth Chatterbox.. should be very cool!

I would just ask why? I get on the bike to get away from everything, I use the XM in the semi to do something with the hours on end of boredom. Boredom isn't one of my major problems when I'm riding.

But anyway, if you wanted to do this, the only problem I would see is that in the really good places to ride (mountains, canyons etc...) you will have problems with reception. Tree cover and hills will cause you to loose the signal. The problem will get worse the farther north you go.

Oh, and if you get a XM MiFI, you dont have to mount it anywhere, its a portable. It also is like a TiVo for XM, so that might fix the reception problems, just record what shows you want prior to the ride and your good to go.

I hate those stem stands! Until I find a better product, I'm all against them.
