Back on a sprtbike Some of you may remember me from DG1 and DG 3 (I think, maybe it was 4). In between, in Aug 2001 I had a run in with a car (head on collision) that killed my beloved 12R. Undeterred, I bought a new bike on the phone from my hospital bed, but thinking I needed to slow down a bit, it was a Valkyrie. I soon discovered that I wasn't made to drive a cruiser. Nothing wrong with a Valk, it's a great bike, it's just not my type. Some of you may remember me trying to keep up with you guys on my Valkyrie in Northern GA on the way to TWO.
Anyway, a few weeks ago, I got a new bike....It's not a Kawi, but it's a sportbike.
I got myself a 2005 CBR1000RR (the fast red one ;-) )
I may not still be riding a ZX-12R, but I consider many of you guys to be friends and I've continued to hang around this forum to keep up with everyone. Even though I don't post much..
So, does anyone remember me???
Here are a few pics.
first is my old ZX12R
Next: Me as I looked in 2001 .
My new bike.
Me now. Lighter by 130lbs ____________

It's a little hard to compare it to the 12r since it's been 3 years and 130lbs since I rode one. But I really like the CBR. It seems that the handling is sharper. The top end power feels similar, but I don't think it has the torque the 12 had. I nned to shift a bit more.
All in all, I'm very happy with it tho.

I hope so. Kinda have this year planned out already, but maybe next year?
Thanks Chris. I spent most of last year in the hospital, but am finally doing well and feeling great.

ROCK ON, STEVE!
It seems that you lost more than the excess weight of a cruiser! 130 POUNDS! DAMN! Isn't that worth something like 18 RWHP?

dunno.
All I know is the bike feels really fast and I've never felt handling this sharp or been more comfortable leaning her way over in the corners. probably has a lot to do with losing a lot of weight carried way up high on the bike. :-)
Sherm,
Ive been following the misadventures of Backmarker Racing LLC and I really enjoy reading your updates. I'm jealous. I wish I had time to pursue something like that. One of these day's I'm gonna make it out to Freddy Spencer's school to learn how to ride this thing properly.
