Prolong Wheeling a Zx-12r at.....

high speed over 2 miles. I have my ideas, but I would like to ask the experts here on their opinion on what if any possible damage could happen to the engine. Should the oil level be at the stock level, or a little higher. Any other tips much appreciated!!!

Looking at the 140-160 mph range.

2 miles, thats nice. You should be ok, just think some pro racers race without any oil in there bikes. But anything is possible. So be careful.

i/we will, cameras, and everything, I will be chasing my own 12 on my old trusty steed - the 11 with (hopefully) cameras on board both bikes. I be about 6 - 20 feet off the back end. We are working on getting this sanctioned.........
I am crazy, not nuts, i think. I am going to let some other crazy do the dirty work!!! :-)
Biggest issue is finding 3 miles of clean and straight road surface. Will keep you all posted. Event will be in the May -June if all goes well. Just finishing up on the maintenance of the 12, now to start on the old 11.

Later................./.................................../........................................../........................................................./

shouldnt have a hard time finding a piece of road imho. there are plenty of straights (2miles shoudl be no porblem i think) towards tsawassen or white rock. i think that stretch in coquitlam running by the Ikea is prolyl 2 miles isnt it?

as to the bike, ideally u'd have a dry sump. dont remember if superman rode a 12 much? he may know hwo well it fared. i'd guess he's thhe pilot ur thinking of anyway? only thing i can tell u is u want at least a quarter tank of gas. when the tank gets low, the 12 stalls during any significant wheely.

yes, the fuel is a big issue. Will be running between 1/4 -1/2 tank. At balance point, that stall will cause either a smashed bike or smashed balls, in some cases, both.

seriosuly tho, i know u had issue with oil spilling into the airbox on the busa, but it didnt seem to affect the engine. not sure if u had much chance to do any long wheelies on a 12R tho? can't remember if u bought a 12 at one point or not.

Another issue I might have had with the Busa was the fact that I never cleaned the airbox or filter out after all those wheelies. The oil must have been building up over time. Not that I do very many wheelies but if I did thats probably what would happen.

And the 12 wheelies just fine at distances.

I did a 2 mile long stand up wheelie on my bike, use the right oil level , even if its at balance point it wont starve with oil,. I once put just a lil extra oil and it all ended on the air box( actually a lil puddle of oil). 2nd gear with stock gearing I was doing about 80 to 90 ,not sure how you will start urs. I usually started at 40mph poped the clucth on 2nd and enjoyed the ride. Air on the rear tire is one thing to look at , if you have too much air on your rear tire youll see your bike swinging left and right a lot. Just my lil opinion
