OT: old GM parts help needed

Terribly non-motorcycle related topic here. Looking for some help from other gear-heads.

I have a steering box here that long ago was going to go on my 69 RS Camaro. *Supposedly* it came off of a 79 Z28 but now I'm kind of doubting it.

The number on the silver downward endcap says 7805156. (the 'round' end.
The number on the 'up' facing bolt-on cap says 7812145.

The FIRST number is just un-findable on the Internet.
The Second number sometimes comes up referenced around basic passenger cars or trucks.

Can anyone help decode??

My gut says to trash it and go get an AGR box or DSE600, or find a used WS6 box.

Try these guys. They helped me restore a 69 Nova to muscle car status. They seem to be one of the more knowledgeable Chevy guys in SoCal and can probably answer any questions.
