Sounds good Doug, It seems a logical move for you... Maybe I'll run into you at Oshkosh this year. I wont be building a Lancair (too much $$$) but a Vans RV-8 is in the plans.

Do you know Tom Whelan?

Do not let Kevin Cameron Know what you did because he will be next! My First flight was a Bonaza with the "V" Tail and it felt a little un stable for me so My next flight was my first training flight a Piper J-3 with an 85 HP Lycoming I think anyone that is into speed must like Aircraft such as a P-51 !!

Congrats Doug, & good luck in your new career.

I miss flying. I grew up in my Dad's Cessna 210 & solo'ed w/8 hours in the log & on my 16th birthday (FCC requirement back then.) Too bad I was more interested in pussy @ 16 than flying after years of droning around in the 210 w/Dad, god rest his soul. Never took it back up after that; got into hot rodding & drag racing my 65' GTO until I discovered bikes are faster (h1b.) Lost mom in an air crash 4 years ago; was pissed at airplanes for quite awhile. But somehow I still find myself looking up & knowing what plane that engine sound belongs to that made me look up . Guess I'll never loose the flying bug...

Someday I'll fly again. All the best & good luck Doug...

Hey Dean,
Thanks for noticing, Cessna took over about just about a year ago. I was the Technical Marketing Specialist for the Cessna 400 and 350 models until about six week ago, when I resigned. I have some interesting things on the horizon that I wanted to chase and the big corporate thing at Cessna (and they are BIG) just wasn't something that I liked. I'm going to be a little more flexible again and will be getting into some interesting projects. There may be horsepower involved........

My first look at a Cessna was the UC78 Sky King flew before he got a 310B.

The 172 was like a Station Wagon specially in Take off performance. Watching a 182 after a 172 was like a drag race of a 250 Ninja against a 600 Ninja. The Old 140's were neat until the 180! I like Cessna

Doug Meyer has been working with race engines professionally and as a hobby for the past 45 years. He has built engines for everything from dragbikes and cars to outboard race boats, from the famous Can-Am sports cars and an F-1 car to motorcycle streamliners. He spent many years as a professional race team member and engine builder. Everything from nitrous to nitro, Doug's had his hands in it. He has set 16 Bonneville speed records on stock appearing Kawasakis and became a member of the Bonneville 200 mph club on a 2001 ZX-12, the "hard way", using just gasoline and available air. Doug has driven big bore sports cars, dragsters and circle track dirt cars, ridden Bonneville bikes, dragbikes, and 300 hp street bikes.

No, I'm serious. All I've ever known in motorcycling is the racers in GP,WSBK, AMA. I'm a huge race fan. Now I know who he is though.
