2004 Rear Shock assembly
Okay - who knows what the differents is between a 2000 Zx-12r rear shock and a 2004 Shock? Would it be a good upgrade? Is it a direct bolt-in. I would assume the spring is different for starters!!!

Not worth much trouble to change. At the very least a Penske swap would be worth the trouble.

either/or....about the same. Top end Penske is much more expensive than the Ohlins, but it has both high & low speed compression/rebound dampening adjustments. It also has a lightweight Ti spring...= $1200.
They also will set it up for you prior to purchase which your average Ohlins dealer will not; you can also send it back free for adjustments if you get the lower end unit without external adjustments.

I have the Ohlins and wouldnt trade if for the Penske.
Either one is nice. As far as "setup"... my ohlins worked fine outta the box and cost about $200 to have resprung/valved 2yrs later.
