yeh that one made the rounds on yzf forums a few days back.
sad.
the more replies that they made and the more non-answers to questions they made just led me to the conclusion that yes, those folks there have something wrong with them.
satisfaction that the chase ended with only scumbacg hurt, fine. even describe the injuries said moron had to deter otehrs from that course of action. Yup i can go for that too. the more graphic the better.
BUT, the actual attitude that was shown of cheerful happiness or even gleeful celebration are too far. That goes beyond normal cutting up type stuff, and enters the realm (IMHO anyway) of psychosis.
By a man's words you will know his heart. What a man speaks tells the story of what's in his innermost thoughts.
i was considering a nice post there, but figured it would fall on deaf ears. Self-righteousness seems to be a disease there.

That attitude is very unprofessional. To get satisfaction from your job is one thing, but to gain pleasure from the pain of others is sadistic. It is scary to think that there are members of the LEO community that have such an attitude.

head of nail, meet slug. he has a hammer for you.
definitely scary to see shit like like coming from the people we've entrusted with authority over us. tho it should hardly be surprising given with the number of cops in the US alone, there have got to be more than enough asses to fill a forum like that even if the percentage of asshole cops is very small. tho my personal experience would tend to suggest it's a higher percentage than i'm comfortable with. law enforcement is one of the select few careers where i really wish we had some foolproof way of filtering out all but the very finest for that job, along with doctors/nurses. imho those 2, more than any other professions, are more than jobs, more than careers. it _should_ fall into the realm of a calling. if you don't WANT to do it for the RIGHT reasons, you shouldnt be there. of course there are other important jobs that come in at a close second, like teachers (esp K-12), polititians (HA!), and others i'm doublessly forgetting.

...wow...I'm almost speechless...I thought it was funny that johnny3's opinion was that cops hated sportbikers...too funny...now I hate myself! ...anyway, pubilc 'celebration' via the internet or in real-time is unsavory imho and it could give LEOs a black eye...that's why I tell the guys I work with to cool the high-5s for a job well done until we're back at the station and away from the general public's view...

well, alot of cops do seem to hate sportbikes, but so do alot of public. again, it's the danger of running an absolute generalization rearing its ugly head. but the problem isnt congrats on a job well done, it's taking joy in someone crashing. that's a frightening characteristic in an officer, since it makes u wonder if they're above trying to _cause_ you to crash. i know you tend to defend other officers alot wormy, but that guy (and a few of the other posters on that thread imho) are just real asses. one thing that did strike me in reading such a bad attitude, is how many of the posters on there really are cops anyway? one of them even mentioned being an LEO "hopeful". for all we know he may not have attained hsi goal because he was an asshoel and the recuiters saw that. i know a friend of my brother was turned down a couple times despite several years of work as an MP, because he was too zealous. TOTALLY by the book, beyond practicality. he wasnt agressive or anything, just so zealous in enforcing the law that the concern of him getting into trouble creeped up. hell, half the folks on there may be pretending to be cops to satiate some kinda ego trip.

the police...i wish i had a dime for every one of those clowns i smoked when i was a stupid kid... Good thing im a completely different person now..Im not trying to get into the whole debate thing..Ive just seen alot of bad cops here in small town midwest USA.. When you pay someone 12,000 - 18,000 a year to patrol your one stop light and square you tend to get what you pay for..
anyway im back good to see some familiar faces..
peace

You ever watch (Worlds Scariest Police Chase)They always put down the person thats running when it comes to driving skills.
It's always; (Look at this idot', he drives like a loser ect.--look at officer freindly as he does the pit maneuver with his professional driving skills ect.)
Even when a cop crashes they blame it on the guy they are chasing or the officer
had no choice but it's never ;The cop made a mistake.
It's a joke.

well, ya can't really blame the cop in the pic above. he was riding a hardley after all; y'all know the things can't negotiate any corners.
jhinderliter, cops defintiely get paid alot more than that around here, but they're also pretty well trained; don't know what qualifications are required there. also, i believe they generally (or maybe it's a ahrd & fast rule now?) only hire people with at least 1 bachelor's degree here. i think that helps as it means u get people who have been exposed to more diversity of people and thought during the course of getting their degree (not that everyone will be helped by it, or needs it). too bad to make it a rule tho, cause i'd bet my bottom dollar there are plenty of people out there without so much as ahighschool education who would make exelent officers.

i guess my point is this..my opinion is that police should be highly paid..well trained..screened and held accountable..'super troopers'(not like the movie)...
fucksticks on a power trip just looking to sweat people w/ their badge and their gun based on their mood , personal beliefs , or just for fun , while at the same time sittin at the bar all night driving home and beating their wife (really happens here)should be drawn , quartered , keelhulled and shot..
just my opinion
