A story of Irony

I have a story, one that involves a few members of the board. As the story plays out you will see th irony...

Saturday night I was packing and loading the trailer to go to Nashville to go see Roger and Crashtech so that we could finish putting my 10 back together with the last of the parts that I had gotten in. As I hooked up the trailer I see that one of the trailer tires is flat, so I took the trailer down to the gas station down the road to fill it up, turns out the tire has a hole in it. How it got a hole while sitting my my driveway for the past 2 months still eludes me, but this is just the begining.

I had to wait untill sunday morning to leave, as I had to go to Walmart to have the trialer tire replaced before i coudl get on the road. I left Walmart about 10 am and headed for Nashville. 2 adn half hours later I arrived at Crashtechs house and we commence to putting the 10 together. Rger had made me a new lexan liscense plate bracket and we put in the new lights and blinkers. The bike went together pretty well so we decided to go for a ride.

Roger had driven over his mustange to Crashtechs house and had to go home and fire up his Green Meanie. Crashtech and I suited up and headed to Rogers.

This is where the irony comes into play.....We arrived at Rogers and he was suited and pushing his Green Monster out of the garage. Roger put the key in the monster only to have it be DEAD....yes DEAD....Now anyone that knows Roger knows how he takes care of his bikes, and anyone who has been privaledged to see him work his MacGyver magic on a bike like Otis's up on River RD, or any otehr bike he has worked on will see the humor in this.

But the story doesnt end here, we ride for about 20 minutes or so, only to stop to discuss which way we were going to take. After the decision was made we all fired up our bikes so that we could get under way, all of us that is, but Roger. Again the Green Monster was DEAD.....So here is CrashTech and myself push starting the Green Monster down the road. It fires relatively easily and we continue on. After a few more stops, without Roger turning the Green Monster off, we came to a point in the ride where we woudl take a break, and let everyone use the rest room. Here again, the Green Monster failed to fire up, and here is myself trying to push start it as that Crashtech was was leading and had already left. We got the bike fired and were under way again

We finsihed out our trip and headed back to Rogers. Where he pushed the Green Monster back in the garage and retired it for the evening.

I find this humerous, not at Rogers misfortune, that just wouldnt be cool, but at the fact that he, being the mechanic that he is, prolly the best one I know of, also has problems with his bike, I guess it can happen to the best of us.....Just remembering Roger tearing down Otis's bike on the side of River road with nothing but tools from the tool kit under the seat of a 12.....only to have this happen I thought was ironic......

Irony always has a place, this time it just found Roger......:P
