Scratched the paint on my 12....
I put a couple of small scratches on my paint. Basically, like a nit-wit, I wasn't paying attention a couple of times and pulled the rear seat off and placed it up on my tail. It left a few small scratches. There not too bad, but that doesn't matter. I know that they are there and it drives me crazy.
If this was my old Mustang I would just have them buffed out. But, my old Mustang was made out of steel. I was wondering how well this plastic piece would buff out...
Any thoughts?

You are buffing paint, not metal or plastic.
But it really depends on how deep the scratch is. If it's just a nick in the clear coat, you can probably make it less noticeable by buffing it. If it's through the clear coat into the color coat or the base coat, you can forget about buffing it.
If you want paint, go to color rite. It ain't cheap, but they can actually match the stock paint.
