Question about brake lines
First let me say my Muzzy brake lines are superb, but I am asking this for my friend who rides an 03 CBR600RR:
my spieglers aren't cutting it, so i'm going to reinstall them a different way (i may have installed them upside down, if that's possible). if that doesn't make them better, i'm going to purchase some galfer lines. i was wondering if there was a major difference between the supersport and superbike lines, and why the superbike lines are race only? is it safe for the street?

go with goodridge - 2 if you can afford them regular ss ones are good also

I have had great luck with the goodridge and have put them on all my bikes.....the goodridge SS are cheap, you can get a front and rear set for about $140, depending on the type of bike...I use 5*cycle on ebay to get mine, he does a really gret jobn, and have never had issues with dealing with him. If I am not mistaken someon on the board is a Goodridge dealer....Wilson might know......

Get a bottle of hair color changer that has a pointi neck, put that half of brake fluid and get a fuel line and inyect the brake fluid from the caliper (the bleder bolt conected to the hose) you will see a lot of bubles then bleed the bolt that is in the master cilinder, if you have that expensive tool you will last 10 min at last bleding the brakes.

I hate to admit it, but TurboHandJob is actually right. Only difference are the small things - diameter etc. of the lines. Goodrige, I think, has a cool deal where you can turn the banjo fittings a couple of degrees.
Putting them on the other way won't affect performance, but merely fit and routing of the lines. Which is important to keep them from binding or pulling in the wheel stroke as the suspension works. (TB's getting all excited....I said 'stroke').
So what's the problem with the brakes? Fading? Mushy feel?
Mushy feel - they need to be bled right. Getting ALL the air from a brake system can be a pain in the ass sometimes. Lot's o' tips in this very forum for that.
Fade? NEW fluid (See Elk's disturbingly detailed report on brake fluid) or new PADS.
Oh, and ANY fluid on the pads will destroy them. So if yer bud got fluid on the pads during bleeding - sorry old chap. Get new ones. They will never stop right.
