OH one more thing - using the "experience is the only measure of leadership" flawed logic, you would be forced to vote for Bush anyway, because at this point he has been in Iraq for much longer than Kerry ever was in Vietnam. So... using your own logic - advantage Bush .

Kerry will surely apoint Jane Fonda to Condy's position. We'll leave the Iraqi citizens behind to live in the new terrorist resort like a dog with firecrackers shoved up his ass. Guys what are we gonna debate on Wednesday ??? I'm gonna miss all this fun.

That's what makes America such a great place! Everyone can voice a opinion! In the Middle East, if someone disagrees with you so bitterly they would hunt you down & try to kill you! We shall see Tuesday, which way America goes. I say Kerry all the way! Just the situation with Cheney & Haliburton should be enough to vote Bush out!

what situation with halliburton?

is there something new, or is it the same old tired "Cheney is getting rich from the war" false claims.....

interesting because i thought we had been through this mess before and finally gotten it resolved.

let's see, Cheney had a retirment settlement, that was to be paid out over a course of several years....the retirement was a set amount, and he would get it regardless of how Halliburton does. no more, no less. And he even took out insurance on that amount in case Halliburton went under....so he gets whats OWED him nomatter what.

so yes, he DOES still receive money from halliburton, but it was his severance pay from the company....

but this is typical bait & switch. great job addison, we expected a higher level of competance on this sort of debate. way to bring up 2001......can you go back to 2000 next post and bring up the national guard record of Bush? or maybe the DUI charges again.... we might as well re-tread that old worn out tire too and ride on it....

so i can say this too: Bush all the way, Kerry's behavior as a NAVAL OFFICER is enough in my eyes to NEVER vote him to public office. ALso, IF what he testified to doing in Vietnam IS true, he should still be in jail. If what he testified to the senate was NOT true, he should have spent a few years in jail. and then disappeared from the public spotlight forever into mediocrity. (or become mayor of washigton DC...)

here let me help....

Bait & switch? You vote for Bush, you vote for Cheney. You can't vote for one without the other, hence the Bush/Cheney ticket! A 10/29/04 excerpt follows.

"the FBI's expanded investigation revolves around allegations last week by Bunnatine Greenhouse, the Army Corps of Engineers' chief contracting officer, that Halliburton received favorable treatment that brought it billions of dollars of no-bid contracts, the Associated Press reported. "

I suppose the above situation, would have existed even without Cheney's influence? Maybe, but we can never be sure! Cheney should have taken extreme measures to be SURE everything was legit with Hal! Just as a Judge excuses himself from a case with a family member. Cheney & no-bid contracts for Hal sure does LOOK improper to me!!

You do realize that Kerry's wife won't release her financial holdings - and there is a STRONG SUSPICION THAT THEY ACTUALLY "OWN" HALIBURTON STOCK (thats why Kerry and Therisa won't allow the records to be released). Haliburton recieved the contract because they were the only company that was really in a possition to assist with the level of work that was required in a timely fashion. Thats the deal guys - move on.

i agree..lets move on..and god help us all if Bush gets reelected...also (on a lighter note)..i don't know if you guys are sports fans (football in particular) but i have recently heard something about my beloved washington redskins when they play before an election....did you know...that every time the redskins win the sunday before an election the incumbent has won and when they loose the incumbent has lose...even though i have been a diehard skins for as long as i can remember...i have to say..i hope they loose today...to me making this statement is like one chopping off ones arm for the cause..ok..maybe not that serious...but close.

If the Haliburton thing is so cut & dried, why the investigation? I am sure there is more to it than the general public knows. I also seriously doubt if there is ANY BILLION dollar plus, net worth companies out there with no competitors. What's wrong with owning the stock anyway? As long as it don't influence the company decisions.

Well, what is your logic? IF your logic is that Cheny has a financial interest in the company - then my statement was to point out the fact that Theresa probably has a LARGER financial interest in the company. In fact - if you are worried that financial ties will influence the presidency - you should be very concerned with the amount of ties into many major corporations that the KErry's have. Haliburton IS kind of unique in its ability to provide the services that it is providing in Iraq. What is my basis for this statement? Well, PRes Clinton ALSO gave them no bid contracts for work during his administration. Investigations occur for numbers of reasons - the political lean of this investigation CAN NOT be denied, so close to an election.

addisonzx12...what you are saying makes perfectly good sense...the haliburton/cheny deal is at the least unethical maybe criminal..but do you really think that you can convince someone (bush supporter) of this...keep in mind these are the same people who believe (really they truly do) that volunteering and fighting in a war (vietnam) is the same as staying home getting drunk every night and not showing up for duty...keep fighting the fight..but i suggest you do as i'm doing also..watch the redskins against whoever game today and cheer for the whoever team...also...believe me...if kerry wins...he will make sure it's looked into properly...

ya know..this thread will probally go on forever...i don't think anyone is going to yell uncle..lol

Interesting. You both realize the Kerry has refused to release his "stellar" service records (why?) AND his family's detailed financial records (why?). For those of you that think there is some kind of "conspiracy" from Bush, I'm suprised you don't jump ALL OVER this. Oh I forgot! Only Republicans can have conspiracies ... RIIIIGHT....
I also submit to you - which is more shady... the team that has given FULL disclosure, or the team that CONTINUES to hide important details from the American Public?

I almost forgot!! The claim that Bush shirked his responsabilities in the Air Guard is completely baseless. He has released his FULL records and they are legit. Stop arguing what is just not true. Now, Kerry is NOT allowing his records to be released AND there are a LARGE number of people who served with him that state that he is "unfit for command". Who do YOU trust?

see what i mean about not being in reality...you state that kerry has not released his military records..he has...and you also state that a large number of people who served with him state that he's unfit for command..do you realized that their (your) definition of served with is not being on the same swift boat that he was on but being in vietnam at the same time that he was there...that's like my cousin that lives in lumberton, nc saying that saw me do something in raleigh, nc (approx. 80 miles away) because he was in the same state...wow...distortion at it finest...sound like rush limbuger..to me..

False. Kerry HAS NOT released all of his service records. He HAS released a portion of them (the records he wants you to see).

False again. True, some of the swift boat commanders did not service directly with Kerry BUT some did. They are a LARGE group composed of individuals that both served directly with him and who served at the same time he did.

Lib lies.
