OMG - some of those are kinda slanted mr Hill - for instance, Arnold was AWOL from the Austrian army for a weekend while he went on to win Mr. Europe. He returned to base and the army actually forgave him (what could they do) and made him a representative weightlifter for the army . I'm sure there are lots of other served/didn't serve on both sides . For instance - GWB senior served in WWII, was shot down and rescued by a sub!!! Talk about harowing war experience!!

so vincent: the only requirement in your mind to send a soldier to war is that they served themselves?
and you believe that what Kerry did after the vietnam war ENTITLES him to send someone else's kids to war?
(let me remind you, he DID abandon every person he ever served with, and he DID call every one of them war criminals, and he DID say that HE performed war crimes...) and he is worthy HOW to be commander in chief?
please tell.
how can a man who failed to uphold is OATH OF OFFICE as a NAVAL OFFICER be trusted to LEAD that same military he eschewed his entire political career?
Addison: comments like yours are ignorant, and i truly hope that is not the extent of the thought you have put in to this whole situation.
if it is, i hopeyou don't vote at all. an ignorant voter is more damaging than one that sits at home. if you don't even have a really good reason to vote,t hen don't bother wasting the poll workers' time....
ridge: as far as your insulting little comments about me "not having a clue" and the like, i really don't study much on the scientific study grants, personally i feel many grants are a waste of taxpayer money. like the grant to study the snoring habits of the great spotted dog-tick..or whatever else.
as far as "bringing it down to my level" let me try to raise up to your arrogant holier than thou level for a moment: how is the united nations, and germany and france, taking money from saddam hussein JUSTICE?
how is the United Nations relaxing sanctions on Hussein when he is 100% contrary to the resolutions the sanctions were supposed to be enforcing, JUSTICE? how in ANY way is the united nations in the right about Iraq?
you are right though, no justice, no peace. and until the united nations actually ENFORCES its own resolutions, they will remain the most UNjust entity out there. because they PROMISE one thing, and deliver nothing but hot air and posturing.
vincent: GW Bush did NOT fail to complete his national gaurd service. that point was proven so badly even the democrats who are intelligent stopped talking about it. the points were added up,he had WAY more than the minimum required service time. only in the last 2 years (when vietnam war was winding down and pilots were being furloughed) were his point close to the minimums, but they WERE stillabove minimum.
that comment is a bald faced lie, and NO WHERE is there anyone with any sort of integrity still bandying that lie around. get off it before you get considered to be lacking integrity by continuing to spread lies....
Ridge: If you don't think that anyone will ever launch ICBM, then you are sorely mistaken. many countries have test-fired EXACTLY that technology. there is no reason to expect they WOULD NOT use it.
patriot missile systems performed admirably well considering the task they had: to detect, track, plot a course, plot an intercept, and launch and INTERCEPT a moving missile. all with 386/486 level CPUs....
i submit that even ONE ICBM that is prevented from reaching its target is worth every penny ever spent on a missile defense system.
however, a missile defense system is more of an offensive tool than defensive. it's called a deterant. why would you fire a missile at a country with a missile defense system, knowing full well that the odds of getting your targets are small, and the odds of retaliation high?
ADT stickers on houses don't make them burglar-proof, but they DO serve as a deterrant. it makes the would-be criminal think twice about the action they are about to undertake....
why do you think we still keep Trident submarines deployed, by your 'logic' since cold war is over they should be mothballed....
but then again it is *I* who am the clueless one.

AGREED!! Bush Sr is a true War Hero in every sense and should have been on that list like McCain and there should have been more about McCain to boot. The worst part is there are a LOT of people that avoided the Military!

wow, long night
hrmmm
there is a huge difference in popular vote this time...that ought to satisfy the true democrats. (ones who feel the popular vote itself is all that should matter)
if Kerry gets 100% of all the absentee and provisional ballots in ohio, there is possibility he could carry ohio. that would give him 272 and a win. (if wisconsin goes for kerry as it appears)
it all boils down to a waiting game now. at least there is no huge legal embroilment like 2000. don't know that the country would put up with another of those...
edit: oops..heh shouldn't do math before waking up ;P

Gotta say, I was impressed with Kerry taking it like a man. That showed some class - and some concern for the American people. Class act at the end.
What a GREAT night for conservatives though!!! Lots of good ground gained!!! I'm tickled pink today! I haven't slept in 50 hours!!!! I think I need to crash now - GOD what a day !!
