Clutch isues
I was at the drag strip for the first time. It was a drag strip in the street that some company makes to sell rum here in DR.
1- I was very fast the first couple of times
Then I draged the clutch a lot and at the end of the strip the clutch felt like It was gone then I let the bike cool down and It was fine.
Did I burn the clutch???
My clutch is a model A stock with dilled holes in the stock hub.
Recomendations????

Flat spot the puller shaft and use good oil!

marcos,
yank yr clutch plates and see if you have any black steels. Sometimes they get so hot they warp and will "hang up" causing the clutch to slip or creep or both. Then its time to call Ron Ayers.

ZX12, Clutch, Issues.. LOL.. Dude you have got to be fucking kidding... LMAO....
and oof.... what they do is take a grinder and grind a side of the puller shaft that goes into the Hub. it alllows a little more oil into the clutch.

What is with this "Flat Spot" buisiness??!!??
Even Big K finally did the proper mod to the clutch to get oil "INSIDE" the hub on the 05.
The "Puller Shaft" on the clutch pressure plate is HOLLOW. It slides inside the Input Shaft of trans. Input Shaft has metered oil supplied to it.
All you have to do to get a good supply of oil inside your drilled hub is to have the Pusher Shaft cross drilled .040 just behind the landing for the needle bearing. DICK SIMPLE Gentlemen!

That is a Good Question....
I have concidered ordering one to have a spare and save me from paying to have one EDM drilled. PLUS it would be nice to see if the Part # is a cross reference AND to see exactly how Big K drilled the Pusher!

flat spot = grinding a mm or so off the shaft along its length to create a flat spot in order to allow for oil flow.

I recommend that you pull the clutch apart and replace the
steels and fibers that are damaged. If you catch it early
you can save the rest of the clutch pack, If not you will burn everything.

I will pull he clutch apart and see if there is any damage in the clutch and replace the steel an fibers damaged and grind a mm along the side of the
?ROD,CLUTCH RELEASE part 46102?
Im using motorex 10w 60 oil in the bike.
What makes me wonder is that th clutch whent fine all the way home 175Km of hard riding.
What else do I need to do?

PS I will put in the bike the zx6 2000 clutch springs at the same time.

my clutch is dry as a bone....only a lil' dampness on a few plates...
I wanna know if the 05' pusher will work in the older bikes...someone go out & be the guinea-pig tester...
Anyone got pics of the "flat" machined on their pusher shaft?

it looks the same as if you imagined it in your head. I just put mine on a bench grinder.

Not much oil will enter the hub with the Pusher "Flat Spoted" when the clutch is engaged. The pusher has a small diameter landing that butts up against the input shaft.
The method I developed over 4 years ago and now Big K uses allows a constant spray of oil during engine operation.
I will be checking into the 05 pusher.

yea...it wasnt a complete solution..but every little bit helps.
Hell yea ill buy an 05 puller if itll fit...honestly dont see why not.
I have to place an order to ronayers anyway
aight..so it seems neither the Kaw website..nor ron ayers has an updated parts catalog for the 05 line.
WHo can get me the part # for the 05 puller shaft?
Ill order one today.

Grind the shaft so that the Flat side is about 1/4 to 5/16" wide. That will add more Oil!

The oil only comes out when the cluth is pulled, unless you also
grind into the bearing seat.
