extended warranties

...ok, I have eight days to decide on an extended warranty and I'd like to get a few opinions...the 3-4 year warranties are $300-$500...my bike has been running well since day one...I've been obsessed about changing the oil/oil filter (Motul 100% Synthetic), keeping the chain clean/lubed, keeping the grease fittings greased, the air-box clean, use good gas, ALWAYS warmed it up properly even after it been running for awhile, slow-dropped once on the right with engine running, slow-dropped once on the left with the engine not running, no wheeleis, a few red-line runs, no clutch problems, haven't adjusted the valves yet cuz I don't hear any unusual noises, original plugs, (I'm planning to change the plugs, adjust valves, and custom map it before Laguna)...well you get the idea...anyway, the bike has run flawless in my book with the full Muzzy, K&Ns, PC3R w/002 map (will get custom map soon), block-offs, and 17/47 gear...I can get the warranty and ride it the way it is for a few more years...or I can put that money towards a 1270 (hey, every little bit counts on civil servant's pay!)...I'm pushing 15,000 miles so far during this first year with not a problem (man, I hope I haven't jinxed myself!)...maybe I'm missing the obvious, but I'm assuming the extended warranty won't cover anything if I go 1270...or 1361...hey I need all the power I can get to move my fat ass off the line!

Dude, the extended warranty is like Term Life Insurance!!!

You buy it incase something happens!!!

After what has been going on with a few bikes chewing up the Bearings and Rods, I think the Extended Warranty is a NO-BRAINER!!!

What I am doing is leaving the motor stock till my warranty is up, then I will do the motor...

You're silly not to get it, even if you've done everything you said, remember Murphy's Law. $300 is cheap insurance.

Otis...At least check the valve clearances. They tend to tighten up, so you cant really just listen to them as they won't make any noise. -ZXtra

Just price a few "simple" items

Radiator fan
Headlight assembly
TPS... OOPS! Sorry, you cant buy "just" the TPS! You have to buy the COMPLETE FI system! Hmmmm... how much was it? Call your dealer and ask!
