Harry, I was gunning for Sunday because looking at the weather that tropical depression/hurricane is going to reach North FL on Sat., it'll be gone and typical shitty FL weather on Sunday, scattered showers here and there. I've got Sat, Sun, and Mon off so I could even do Mon for the $85. What days do you work or have off?

Harry, if what I read is correct, it looks to me like they messed it up or was wrong from the factory! When I took a friend of mine KZ1000 apart for the first time ever (WHO also had a bad countershaft sprocket) I found a crack in the webbing of the case for the crank. WHen I pulled the crank out, I cound that the cap was rotated and the alignment hole in the crank bearing cap was "NEVER" installed over the pin.

If the same thing was done when your engine was put together like this originally, that may be the reason why your countershaft failed originally. Or, when the shop put it together the "FIRST" time, they may have not put the cap over the pin and done this theirselves. That would be the reason they wanted to weld it to avoid paying for the case themselves. The small end bearing is in a less than strong part of the case and welding will warp the case plus they are not going to align bore the hole and put the pin back in!

In other words, call Kawasaki in Santa Anna California and express your concerns both ways that it is either Kawasaki or the shop that messed up!

Outlaw, you must have a problem! Harry has more ZX12R engines apart in his shop than you own! and when put together, they all run good!

Monday ain't looking too good either adam. I was gonna go over and get some tires for my marchesini forged magnisium wheels (that I got from the Chi-Town blowjob queen ,aka bartina) in jackoffsonville and visit turboDogFucker but this hurricane has got traffic all fucked up. So I guess I'll just work in my shop here. Fuck hurricanes!

They already cancelled all three days at Jennings this weekend. I'm looking at Sept 18th or Sept 26th but that's 3 1/2 weeks away. I'm going to try to get them to hold some small races too, just for fun and to put these slicks to good use.

Dealer sux major cock

I went to pick up my 12 again yesterday. They said they test rode it and everything was ok except they said it ran a tad rough below 3,000 rpm. Went to start it and it wouldn't fire! We left so they could charge the battery and came back it started allright RUNNING ON 2 Fuckin CYLINDERS! The motherfuckers had test rode it for about 30 miles. They had the TPS connector connected to atmospheric sensor. We swapped it around and it wouldn't fire at all. He thought it was out of gas.I'm going to call monday and find out what he found out from kawasaki. The tps and possibly the computer are fucked as far as what I'm being told. I'm going to start another post to find out as I'm not good on electronic stuff.I need to change my username back to FuckMeRunnin!

Found my answer posted by doug meyer
quote:
Assuming you have a 2000 model, did you, at that time or at any time previously, mistakenly plug the GREY plug that is meant for the MAP sensor into the TPS instead of the BLACK one, which is the correct plug for the TPS? If you did that, you likely fried the TPS. The result is exactly as described. On a 2000 the plugs are interchangeable. It was idiot proofed on subsequent models.
Doug

TPS is FRIED!! Thanks doug!

There will be no "next time" as the warranty has expired. I'll be fixing it myself next time!
