Went to pick up my ZX-12 today at the dealers
I took it in early march. They have had it for 5 months now. A bearing failed in the gear box the one behind the countershaft.
I walked in and told them I was here to pick up my bike.The service manager tells me nervously "we have a problem" I'm thinking (We sures the fuck do) my bike is still not ready. At the opposite end of the gear shaft a needle bearing is located to support the shaft and there is a pin the goes into the cap that extends into the case. The hole is as sloppy as Turboblews ass after a prison gangbang.He tells me that he is going to have this guy weld it up.... at which point I tell him "oh hell no,that is totally unacceptable to me and that the case should be replaced under warranty as the bearing failure on the other end of the shaft is surely what cause the problem". He says "yes, they should". I wanted to tell him please don't let any of the mechanics that have been involved in the abortion repair job on my bike ever work on airplanes.
I am most disappointed after working out of town for the last month and coming back to find my bike still not done......I'll shut up now (insert sad emocoion here)

dude that sucks. it woulda been faster to find a salvage engine and just swap. prolly cheaper too....

I took it to them because it was still under warranty. I have a spare engine. but it's in my dragbike frame now.Shouldn't cost me little (oil) They have contacted kawasaki and the bearing failure is covered under warranty.

Bummer Harry, I know you have been wanting to get Ol' Green back.
Maybe it'll help if I send Bart down to that dealership and have him "service" all the guys in the shop. Surely that will motivate the guys to do a better job.

Or was that composites you work on Hairy? Same thing any local body shop could do, As long as you like breathing paint shop fumes all day.
I know you couldnt fix it Hairy, You can hardly bend over to tie your own shoes,
 Mechanics aint sanding Hairy. Hey Hairy at least you could work on building bass boats
You talk big for a guy that uses a belt sander daily.

Harry when do you want to go back to Jennings? I was planning on going this Sunday the 5th but another hurricane looks like it's going to fuck those plans again, godamn Florida, Sunshine state my ass.
Sorry to hear the bike still isn't fixed yet, Streits right? They did a royal fuckjob on my 12 too, dumb bastards ripped apart my bike and left it in pieces for 2 1/2 weeks because of a crossed vacuum line which they never even noticed until I took it out of the shop, voided the warrenty, and fixed it myself(with help from Jeff). Streits in Gainsville shouldn't have a service department, as matter of fact if any of those non-"mechanic" cunt assholes are reading this, you need to go to school and learn how to fix a damn bike; they could fuck an oil change into a full $4300 engine rebuild and if that's not even possible THEY'LL figure out how. Dumb Bastards.

Adam - I'm going to jennings sat if the weather looks ok. My slicks are still on my bike and it's all taped up. You need a ride or do you not want to go sat, weather permitting?I've tried to call your cell phone a couple of times.

Norm you work around airplanes ordering parts and looking up references cause you most likely can't work on them .
Composites on aircraft are a lot different than working in a body shop. (which also requires a lot of skill to do well) composites are kevlar/graphite/fiberglass or a combination . It also encompasses metal to metal bonding.programming computers to do hot bonds and using an autoclave.I also machined hobe and stretched it to make aluminum honeycomb core. I am really a machinist/welder sheetmetal person which is what I did for 21 years in the air force. Composites is just something else i can do.I like to learn new skills as i have all my life. I just try to do the best I can.I don't consider myself anything special.
How is it that you have such vast knowledge norm, to know what people can or cannot do? Answer? you don't know your ass from a hole in the ground. You can't piss someone off who could care less what you think. I just laugh at you stupidity norm and I am surely not the only one on this board doing so (laughing)
