Yes, I can hear the relay clicking but the starter in not turning. I tried the clutch pulled in the kick stand up and down, put in gear out of gear. I put it in gear put a socket on the front gear and turned the motor a little nothing.

Get a voltmeter and measure the battery voltage and then measure it when you try to start the bike.. Then let us know what it says.

I had to replace the starter relay switch on mine, was giving me all kinds of trouble, how about the tip over switch?? I dont remember where its at, but that's other thing u can look at. Bypass the starter relay and send power straight to the starter (thats how I found out it was my relay)

It measured 12.19 with the starter button pushed. I measured the starter cable to see if it the starter was grounded but it read open. I was messing with the NOS and grounded a power wire. It burned up the wire going to the WOT so I fixed that. The when I tried to start the bike nothing. So I check all the fuses under the tank cover. The NOS has the relay insatlled which has to power wires going to the battery positive side.

Did you straight jump your starter?
Is your battery charged enough?
Is all wires connected?

Yes all the iwres are connected. I put the bike in gear and took a breaker bar to spin the motor and the starter spun too. So it is engauged when it is not supost to be. Does it have a bendex like a car that pushes the starter gear into place?

starter
Put the bike in gear and rock it forward. We burn the starters up from time to time when spinning the cars backwards. Once I rolled the car out of the trailer and my hand slipped off of the clutch. I heard the starter make a weird noise then it would not start. I rocked it forward and it started working again.

Boss man hook a battery directly to the starter motor if it turns you have a wiring problem if it doesn't you need a new starter. it is that easy

If everything points to juice getting to the starter but not starter rotation(all you can hear is the relay click)-
The starter gear is always engaged. It's has a roller/ramp clutch in the gear assy. that will lock up when turned backwards. The starters have a habit of having the brushes come adrift when they get worn short. Take the starter apart and you'll probably find one of the brushes out of the holder. Just put it back in and re-assemble. You can purchase a new brush assy. found on the fische if you need to.

Thansk for all the help. The spring that pushes the brushes some how jumped off. I guess the gremlin got mad after I shocked him when I was working on the NOS system. So he got me back by kicking the spring off the starter.

Not that it matters now as it pertains to this solved thread but...
I see in the service manual they talk about the built in diagnostics mode and what all the error codes mean. It tells you if any sensors/whatever are failing.. etc etc Looks pretty in dept and no special stuff needed.. ya just short some wires to get it into one of two diagnostic modes...
Yet, I have never heard anyone on the forums mention using that..
Has anyone ??
I almost did when my used engine wouldnt start but I figured out the issue before I got to that point.

Yeah I have played with it a little bit just to see if any error codes in there. But I didnt' get anything. Would be nice if it had an OBDII set up like the Triumphs do..

Since I worked on one of these last weekend, I had an idea. Maybe before you put the spring back on, put a little dot of TIG weld on the top of the stud, giving it some resistance to coming off. Sonmething to "snap over". We'll have a look at it on the race bike.

That is a great ideal Doug, if it happens again I will be sure to do that. But unfortunately I have it all back together now!
