Best place to get EBC pads ?
Obviously one of the board sponsors... but I can't find any FA188HH pads on any of their sites.
Finding them online seems to be a bit of a pain, and when ya do, they're over seas, or pretty expensive.

I got mine from E-bay. All three sets for 85.00, new. I think I saw more on there a couple days ago.

Ditto on Parts411. In stock, fast service.
btw, in the for-what-its-worth column. I put the EBC-HH pads on yesterday, and noticed that one side was dragging. One set of pads is a bit thicker that the other!! WTF?!
I mentioned this to the local Kawi shop, and the Svc Mgr confirmed that they mic their EBC's before putting them on because this happens occasionally, and they either send them back or get out the sandpaper and make it right.
So, keep an eye on this!

I looked on Parts411 and they didn't have the part number listed.
Found a much better deal anyway.

I could see how clicking the above link would confuse you.
There's this little thing off to the right of your screen, it's called a scroll bar. If you click on the arrow that looks like it's pointing down you will discover the rest of the internet you've been missing.

Thanks Dave. Never clicked on your link as I searched the night before... scroll bar and everything (actually, this monitor shows almost the whole page with little searching for my missing internet).
Never found the part number... and I already found a deal on the pads, for $15 cheaper, shipped.

Local Kawasaki dealers are a JOKE. Over priced parts that are never in stock anyway. I can skip the middle man, and get the parts faster, for cheaper. I support the local shops that support ME. Tires and chemicals. One shop wanted $50 to just change a tire, another wouldn't touch it, another wanted $35. I've had one shop do it for free once, another shop did it for $15. I'll spend money at those shops before I ever go back to any of the other ones.
Helpful advice, I get from HERE. There is vastly more knowledge on this website than at ANY of my local dealers. I'd much rather support Spencercycle, Muzzy, Schnitz Racing... as they've been far more helpful to me. If I had a place and people like Zack Milholland at Alcoa Good Times, I'd be all about the dealership. Zack saved me ATLEAST $250 over what the local dealership woulda charged me.
That $15-$30 it cost to have a "good relationship" with my local stealers, would be much better spent with someone who will actually help me.

Go to Alcoa and look at the new Kaws when they get delivery.
Hell from Florida that should only be 500$ round trip if you sleep stay at a flea bag hotel.
500 vs 30 bucks = loser

Maybe if you bought your stuff local you would not have problem with tire mounting?
Maybe and maybe not, Maybe they feel you aint worth a favor. Since you wont even buy brake pads from em, The road goes two ways there Matt.

I used Alcoa as an example. I guess I didn't make that obvious enough.
They've been the only dealer I've dealt with besides the ones here in town. What part about "I already saved $250 on parts versus what I would have spent locally", don't you understand ?

Where do you think I buy tires ? I've paid $170 three times in the past 8 months for a tire I could have gotten for $120 online, then paid $15 for mounting. All at a local shop, just not a dealership. As I've said before, DEALERSHIPS in this town, are thieves. Why I'd pay premium price just to buy from a dealership, is beyond me. A dealership that cares nothing about the customer, and everything about making a dollar. These local shops have made alot more money off me by charging LESS, than ANY of the dealerships in town who wanted to make more money on ONE single product. DEALERS in this town, can go fuck themselves. I'm sure there is no love lost.

I think you should heed your own advice there spanky: http://www.zx12rzone.com/board/viewthread.php?FID=1&TID=14323&set_time=
Sheesh, all I asked for was opinions on where the best place was to buy brake pads. You turn into a complete internet baby... as if anyone expected any less.

only supporting I do is to MY pocket bookl....I am not lining anyones wallet with my hard earned money....$15-30 is a set of knee pucks when i go to the track...or a few gallons of race fuel, or some new fork oil when I rebuild and valve my forks.....I will buy parts the CHEAPEST i can get them, and I will find someone that will put them on as cheap as possible. Guess I am lucky to have Roger just 2 hours from me.....I will just buy a bunch of stuff, and then pack up one morning early and go visit Roger and help him hang the parts on my bike......or do it myself if need be.....

Exactly !!!
...and there isn't one shop in town I'd leave my bike at, to do ANY work, not even swap tires. I take them the rims, and I wait there. Only thing I buy local is chemicals (chain lube, oil), and tires.

All I am saying is a few extra bucks at the dealership don't bother me, Its the cost of doing bussiness.
Remember folks work to support there home and family, 401K, Profit Sharing, Health Benifits and Vacation should also be earned by folks who work and sale motorcyles for a living. Thats where your extra dollars go, Its not lining the pockets of Dealerships.
It is a bussiness, I would hope employees who work at what they love could still have benifits IMHO.

yea... and if some of these local dealers had a brain they would do some business on the internet...
Things change... if ya dont stay with the times you get left behind.
Its like that with nearly every business.
If my local dealer would have went online like ronayers and a few others and sold things at reasonable prices... guess what ??
they would get the business....
Now.. I will still by things from my local dealer if they will match or come close to the online prices... (tax vs shipping considered) but it just sucks trying to get them to do it.. its like I gotta beg them not to make 50% or more on everything they sell me..
With the internet it doesn't matter where you are because you can get business from everywhere...
Regardless... there are some cool guys in the service department of my local dealer who have helped me a fews times but for the most part I do everything myself... so it gets done right
I do occasionally buy things from them but I mostly buy online from the people that (got their shit together, have fair prices, and cool products)..
