Are there any gain by installing a set of cam(larger) in a 12 motor(stock) If so, how much of a gain should be expected. At the present moment, I am looking at a set of web. Is the gain worth the price.

Well if you look at the duration and cam timing on the factory cams you will see the cam event timings are very near optimal. At least from the software I use.
The lift is not agressive but it doesnt need to be.
The zx12 has a big bore and big valves. More so than any other bike. So lift isnt going to gain much.
Maybe a more agressive opening ramp would yeld some power?
In any case I wouldnt think it would be cost affective.
I dont believe on a 1199 engine is is worth spending money on cams. An engine of 1300+ cc is another story thou.

Thanks for the info. just bouncing the cam questions around and it appears that nearly everyone is on the same sheet of music. I think I need to have mine degreed, because my bike is only making 164 with a a/f ratio of 13.2.
I am running it around 14.0 right now and making 168. I think I will have the degreeing done and go from there.
