Tire pressure for various riding
What types of tire pressure do you run for various riding?
Like touring vs aggressive?
Or street vs track?

50psi is a good over all tire pressure.

around 35 psi for the track and 40 on the street.

man I guess I am not the norm then....I use 33 fornt and 34 rear on the street, and I use 30 front and 31-32 rear on the track....pressures vary according to ride style and outside temps, and tire types......if I was touring I would prolly bump the pressure up to about 36......but only for the highway

street (metzler M-1 sportec)I use 36 front 38 rear, long trips 40 front 41 rear, Track 30 front 30 rear (pirelli dragon slicks).

Yeah... lower 40s for longer trips.
Hard mountain riding 34-36 psi
Track days..34
Dragstrip..... 55 in the front... 33 in the back

you guys are killing me with your 40+ PSI in your tires....dam
I cant stand to ride my bike with that much air in the tires, makes it ride like a lumber wagon...I can see 36 PSI on long hauls, but anything higher than that doesnt give you any kind of feedback...or atleast it doesnt for me...
When we ran the Cherohola at the last DG event, I was running 30 PSI front and rear on the 600....prolly should have been 32 front and 34 rear, but it handled great.....I guess whatever floats your boat, or turns your bikes.....lmfao

40 psi front 32 rear,, keeps the rear tire from wabbling during the stand ups.

One added note: Dunlop says 30-30 for the tracks around here...

yeah the Dunflp guy told me to run 29 in the front and 30 in the rear using the D208GP A's on Roebling, but it was during the winter months and was quite cold outside....

On the track I run 31 in the front and 30 in the rear.
If it's too hot, I'll run 32 in the front and 31 in the rear. Always measure the tire pressure when you come back in from a session. The pressure should rise by 10%.

I try to get a hot pressure of about 36 PSI......which means I start out with cold pressures of 30-33...depending on how cold it is out side, and what kind of riding I am doing....

If you are riding on the track, talk to the tire guys. Street, I go by the book. For those that whine because of the rough ride they are experiencing, then I sugges they go over their suspension settings. Yer fucking up if you are letting your tires do all the suspension work.

you are right but......I have the suspension set up stiff with the minimal recommended sag front and rear.....and the tires are set at track pressures, this combination works well for the track and for the mountains....and as big a pain in the butt as it is to change things.....I just leave them set for the track and the mountains, so it makes it a bit harsh for regular street riding.....whats my answer.....TRAXXION DYNAMICS......front and rear....heheheheh just got to con the 2500 bucks out of momma to get it done.....or do it while she is in the desert......:P

$2500??? What are they doing? Man, I paid a grand for an ohlins, and about $300 to get the forks rebuilt...That worked WONDERS. Course, the Marchesinis helped a ton!

The reason for the original question is that my back tire doesn't feel too
"planted" during what I consider normal everyday riding. I was wondering if it was a tire pressure issue.

swft.....they are gonna do everything.....lol the only thing that will be left from the original is the tubes.....and they help ya dial it in....or so I am told, will make sure of everything when it comes time to do it.....

Huh??? Why bother upgrading the stock tubes for $2500?? You can buy an Ohlins front end for $2500 brand new.
Aside from the springs and some valving the stock forks are damn good!

not talking about the stock tubes alone being 2500, that is for the whole thing, the rear shock as well...
