I've got seat time on the 10r and its impressive.
But My 12r at 180+ hp vs a bone stock 10r....?
I'd have to say my 12r pulls harder at any rpm.
I think my buddies 10r with about 10 hp more would be about dead even.
He'll do a pipe soon, so then i'll bet there about even in acceleration.
Its not even worth discussing handling. You steer the 10r by the freggin axle and its 100# less weight.
The biggist area where the 10r is nost different is slowing down. and I dont mean brakes. I came out of a particular turn at about 9000 and went thru some gears to 155 indicated and rolled off the throttle to set up for the next turn and it felt like i deployed a parachute. The bike slowed down freggin fast without any damn brakes. I rolled back on the throttle way early just to maintain the speed i wanted to enter the corner with.
Thats the biggist thing i noticed about the bike.
I think a zx10r with about 170 or so rwhp would be the sweet spot for a rider of my weight. (200#)
Now, me on my 12r and otto65 on his 10 r? Well he has 40 lbs less body mass so it evens things up.
If he gets a pipe i'll have to bump up the 12r to 200 or so RWHP to keep things even again.
Now if you guys wat to hook a rope to a bike and pull? Well do go picking on that 2.3L brit bike. Thats a damn car engine. Friggin pinto motor in disguise. I bet it'll out pull even a Valkyre.
Isnt it fun to speculate on assumptions.

I'm thinking of buying a Vulcan 2K and giving it to muzzy to put a supercharger on.

...I don't think anything with that kind of mass and density can do any kind of flying...
...Kawasaki needs to make a lighter 'power cruiser' around that nugget of an engine...build it and we will come....

my Zx9 is a 1994 I bought new that I have quite a bit of work done to do it but havent touched it in awhile (gotta fix the blown head gasket)it has a 6-8in over arm 950cc kit, full epoxy head, air shifter, RC Triton wheels, Muzzy pipe adjustable cam sprockets and ignition advancer, plus I have a Schnitz Pro-Street nitrous controller waiting to go on when I get around to replacing the head gasket.
still thinking about selling my 12 tho.I loaned it to a friend for right now cause he wanted to try it out plus his Busa isnt quite road ready yet

I actually thought the '10 was kinda comfortable for my 6'2" 200+ lb body. Of course, I only sat on it at the local dealer !!!

well, I have only seen one 10 at the strip so far, but I watched one last night smoking stretched and modded busas. The bike was bone stock except for being lowered. No arm, not even a pipe. It was a little dude, I raced him twice and he ran 6.40 and 6.41 at 118 mph. Later he went 6.3 against a gixxer. That damned 10 was freaky fast.
