zx10 vs zx12
have any of you zx12r owners raced any of the new 10r's if so what happened i am about to get a 12r myself i was just wondering which bike is faster

The guy w/some Maxton records....have you taken the 10 on a high speed run yet? It can't be as fast top end as the ZX12R is....right?

My loyalty holds only true to GREEN  beyond that I simply tell the truth.
100% Stock vs. 100% Stock, the 10R has the 12R covered in all aspects except comfort.

It's one of those things where a GREAT rider on a 10R will beat a GREAT rider on a 12R.
...but a good rider on a 10R will get whupped by a good rider on a 12R.

I think the 12 is nicer and better built than the 10.
But thats just my opinion, I am a and always been a kawasaki fan so I won't say nothing bad about the 10.

On the DragStrip the ZX10 is Faster than the 12 both with stock motor, swingarm, and same mods...

It's faster in the hands of a professional. However, the average joe will turn a lower ET on a 12, due to the additional torque off the line.

Over Memorial Day weekend...I went to LA to ride w/ some friends. We rode the PCH on Memorial Day down to the Ortega Hwy on up to Lake Elsinore.
My buddy has a new ZX10r(Black), broke in nice and BONE STOCK!
Granted....W/ gear he weighs 160lbs. I weigh 220 w/ full gear and the 12 currently comes in at 510.
We never did any "Top Gear Roll On's", but we did PLENTY of "pick your gear and go like hell runs!!" Believe me.....My buddy ALWAYS makes sure the 10 was on the boil in any gear!
I have a full on 200 H.P. 1270 kitted 12 w/ -1 tooth up front. If I did not have the piston kit he would of had me covered!!!!!
On the coast w/ 60 degree air my 12 never felt faster....and that damn Black 10 was FAST!! I was glad to have him covered, but it was not by much! I could give him the snap and I could recover and pass, but at about a 3-4 mph pace. We would run well into 5th gear from 2nd....I have no doubt that I would leave him on top though !
I rode the thing and the best way to describe it is that it feels like a 98' 9R from throttle snap to 6,000 then turns into a 12R w/ a pipe and map from 7,000 to redline!! Impressive!

Yeah, that's great , but let's get back to the tractor pull competition . I have to admit, I was in the dealer the other day and it was really hard not to put money down on that damn 10  .

Great, thanks! Rode it a bit the other day. So sweet. Specially feels nice to come off riding the ZZR for a couple weeks and get on the 10R. Can you say 'super bantamweight'? I thought you could.

I have an 03 ZX12 and an 04 ZX10
for me I find the 10 more comfortable (I am 5ft9 175lbs)
as far as performance goes both bikes seem to be equal tho the torque of the 12 does help to get it off the line quicker the tall 1st gear on the 10 doesnt help the lack of torque

oh yeah
If I have to choose which one to keep it would have to be the 10
Might end up selling the 12 cant see having 3 bikes at one time ( I also have a ZX9)

To me (6'-3" , 270 lbs) the 10R feels like it pulls like an average 600 cc sportbike ( it's dyno sheet shows it makes about the same hp as most 600's below 5K) very weak in my opinion. Once you whack the 6-7K mark it tries to rip your arms out of your socket. The 10R is way too much of a lightswitch for me to enjoy on the streets and it's just beggin for atleast 3 more teeth on that rear sprocket.
