Oil question again "Same"
I have been using the Spectro 4 petroleum oil and was wondering what everyone else was using. I'm thinking about the Mobil 1 synthetic and was wondering if there was any issue of clutch slippage. I know this has been asked before, but I couldn't find the thread.

After listening to you guys here and on 12.org I have switched, in the past month, to Mobile 1 15-50 car oil and no problems and don't expect any either. I was using Castrol Superbike oil but the cost difference is quite a bit when you change your oil every 1500.

How often do you change oil in a race bike ? Motul is good stuff, I'm just the curious type.
Oh, if it matters, MX4T for me.

I'm not familier with the MX4T, what is the difference between that and the Mobil 1?

Actually in the Sport Rider oil test articles they did last summer there IS a difference in the formulation for the motorcycle and automotive oils.
Now, what effect those formulations really have, though, was rather up to speculation.
HDL - when I used heavier wt. oil in my bike it used it up (20/50 I think). But then I switched back to 10w 40 and it was fine - oil consumption ceased. And I liked to rev this piss outta that 12.
Go figure.
