Just spent an hour watching a neighbor's kids racing in a school parking lot. School's out, so the gate's locked shut, no worries bout cars coming in. Great fun!

Had the one pictured above at 25mph tonight. Still pig rich on the break in (25:1)
Gonna order a high compression gasket and a pipe. Should be good for about 40mph. Not bad for under $300

A fellas that lives a couple streets over has been zipping up and down our street on one of those. I crack up everytime cause he's about my size and looks hilarious on it, although it looks like he is having a blast though.

The guys are whining about how ratty the pit bike is looking and I was thinking of replacing it with a YPB. What's confusing is that some say the Cagllari GP Racer (Chinese model) is really 39.6cc and not 47cc. Which is it, TB?
Did some searcing and already I'm looking at spending almost as much as I do on my 10R!
Giannini Racing conversion for the Cagllari Daytona Pocketbike produces a net gain of 35% more bhp (4.3 to 5.8). Conversion includes: high compression modified cylinder, billit cnc center plug special squish cylinder head, billit CNC 4 peddle reed cage and spacer, high tensile head studs and B9EGV racing plug. $249.00
This is the same place that built the engine that broke the ECTA pocket bike record at Laurinburg Airport, NC with a 63.888 mph (adult rider in full leathers).
and I can't forget to get these items....
Custom Tuned Pipe - $180.00 (no BS $40 pipe!)
Bi-Zeta Steering Damper - $110.00
Speed Sprocket kit (-6T rear and chain) - $40.00
Velocity Stack - $20.00
Air Filter for Stack - $35.00
ZR Performance Carb porting (includes - taper bore starting at 16mm tapering to 14mm / taper the needle / rejet to a 60 main jet / port intake) -$35.00
So that adds up to about $960! Here's a cheap mod I found if your on a "budget" and who isn't with a bike that costs less than $300?
Make sure the needle is set at the 5th and lowest setting for top end. The silencer has to be gutted and a straight pipe installed over perforated tailpipe. Make sure to cut slip on exact length to fit into cups. Aluminum paint stick from Home Depot is the only ID I found that fits. Drill a small hole in rear cup for gases and oil to vent that may get past slip on. Thats the most you can do without tearring motor or carb down.
Oh well, I might nees to stick with the $289 and a trip to Home Depot.

Well, if its a 39cc model (which I doubt)...it sure hauls ass. I pulled the air filter off it and it was screaming for more! I can imagine a pipe, bigger carb, more compression, race gas.... could get that bike over 45mph!
But for $290... it does the job pretty good.
Few things Ive noticed:
-welds are sloppy, but look strong enough (inspect them close)
-some bolts need more torque then the factory gave them.
-fuel hose was kinked and wrapped around exhaust
-muffler clamp was loose
-chain guard was misaligned
-tires needed 25psi each
-brake cable needed adjustment
-tank vibrates at top speed
-seat needs more than a 1/8" piece of foam...lol
-solid suspension
-gas valve needs to be turned off when sitting.
But
-bike fired on 2nd pull from bone dry
-easy to setup
-weighs less than 40lbs
-easy to work on and store
-shit load of extras included mixer bottle, tools, stand, tons of stickers (including Kawi ones!)
-30 day warranty
-wife hopped right on it and took off!
-the bike screams and wants to pull right to redline (8900rpm!)
Im sure with a decent filter, better pipe, carb, etc... it could hurt someone bad!!
We waste an easy $300 on bs for our bikes....

Yeah, even I'm guilty of not wearing the proper gear when tuning the pit bike (aka Uber Scooter). I try to explain to people that they wouldn't jump out of a car doing 40 mph so why do they think doing 40 on a scooter (pocket bike, dirt bike, et.al.) won't hurt them if something goes wrong. Even at 30, you can get fucked up.
When I was a kid on a bicycle and pedeling my ass off, I might have been doing all of 32 mph. I thought I was flying and was borderline scared shitless, but excited over the blazing "speed" I was going. Now, after spending years on a sportbike, it sometimes feels that if it's anything under triple digits, I won't get hurt if I get dumped. We all know that's no necessarily true, but it doesn't keep us from doing 30 mph while our butts ar 20" off the ground.
