Today..
My day took me near the Kawasaki dealer so I dropped in for a look see.. No 12Rs but they had about 6 10Rs lined up.. I'm jut not impressed with them.. I'm so used to the massive presence of my 12 and like the feeling of the big bike.. They did have a red ZRX that sure was pretty. I miss my ZRX in many ways and especially how it got me back into biking.. The ZRX has a lot of grunt down low and into the 120 mph range... Just thinking out loud on a rainy day.. My son and I rode together for the first time last Sunday. He has a Muzzified Ninja 250. I spent a lot of time waiting for him to catch up but we had a good time and put about 135 miles behind us. My bike felt real planted on my new BT014s... Ride em if you got em!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bill that rocks, its really great that you can spend time with your son like that...my dad and I live about 600 miles apoart, but still get out and ride when we can....I dont have any kids, but I have 2 younger brothers, who both ride, and I really enjoy spending time with them out on the road....

Bill,
My sons have grown up around motorcycles, just as I did. They were raised on dirtbikes from 3 years old. We live at the foot of Deals Gap and when they turned 14 (legal age in Tennessee for streetbike license) they would be waiting for me when I came in from work to ride. My youngest rode 3,000+ miles the first summer on a built YSR50.
I've watched them move up from YSR's to a SRX250 Yamaha, 400 Suzuki Bandit, ZX6R's, GSXR750's, ZX9R, R1's a
ZX12 and a new 10. Like you said, the 10's nice but I'm partial to my 12.
When they were young, neighbors thought we should be charged with some form of child abuse because we let them ride!
Sure it's dangerous and it's TOUGH when you start out, looking back in my mirrors to see if they made it around every sharp curve almost caused my own wrecking several times. To this day I still worry but they love it and we have a special relationship because of motorcycles and for that, I am thankful.
Enjoy your special bond, so few ever get to experience something like this.

My son is 18 and I didn't meet his mom until he was 8. He's had a dirt bike and access to a four wheeler but this is his first street bike.. I respected the wishes of his mom and uncles but he is now legal to make his own decisions.. I'm afraid I have imparted my love of speed on him and now spend a lot of time trying to keep him from being like me.. Ha! You are very fortunate to have been able to share your love of bikes with your sons. I have three grown daughters that didn't take up my motorcycling habit so I got a late start on a son....
