It's ALIVE!!
Spent 2 more hours and fired it up today. I spun the engine until the Oil light started blinking and then added fuel , then started it up. Once running, the main difference was the difference in sound of pistons with about .0025 clearance as opposed to .001 clearance. plus with 30 wt oil as opposed to 40 weight Oil. It ran clean after about 1 minute and I blipped the throttle between 1500 and 2500 rpms and turned it off when I saw the temp moving up about 1/4 inch off cold (About 2 or 3 minutes).
Tomorrow i will install the entire front fairing and change the rear sub frame. (I am putting the stock seat and tail section on so that Peggy and I can go for a ride and breakl it in!). I am carrying a spare fuel can of 2 gallons because the small tank holds 2.5 gallons)
I think about 250 to 300 miles with the ND 30 Oil and low rpms (between 3,000 to 4,000) and then change to the Honda cheap Oil and run harder up and down between 4 and 6,000 miles until I get about 500 miles and then run a lot harder up and down between 6,000 to 10,000 rpms for a few hundred more miles. When I reach 600 to 750 miles, I will change back to the Motul E-Tech 100 and run it through the gears a few times before putting it on the dyno and start the NOS Tune up! Hopefully I will have all of the miles on the bike by this weekend and Sunday start painting the tail section and making the under fairing for the rear seat. By next weekend install the NOS with the Heater, Retard and progressive controller and test the following week.
We will see what we will see!

Believe it or not, there is another Dyno I was using in Maryland that has great venilation also! (In Cockeysville where I was going before) What do you think I should do? You know I am not taking the use of his parts and bought my own!

If you can get free dyno time out of Nick by all means take advantage of it, just remember what he did to me tho when it comes to trusting him to do anything for you!

I just hope I did not set the pistons too loose. Min was .0025 and Max was about .0035. The way I measured this was to use a long feeler gauge to get about .002 at the skirt and measured about 1/2 inch toward the dome and saw that it was between .001 and .0015 smaller. I know when the engine gets Got that all of this will be reduced some what and under the heat of NOS, it will be reduced more, but the thought of more clearance (to me) also loses the heat reduction by the of the piston heat to the walls of the cylinder? This time I went with the manufactors suggestion because (I Hope) they know more about how their piston will act more than I do!
(When I put an engine together with Wiseco, I would run them slow and take them apart several times to fit the piston until I was sure it was ready!)

Mr Hill you did good, They pay college boys to sit around with big computers to figure this stuff out.
That is one of our problems with the ZX12, The geeks tuned the damm thing so well before it got to us, There aint much left to get outta of her, Unless you go big bore/Nos, Lucky for there is still room to do this

Mr Hill, I would drop the pan after the first 100 mi or so, clean and inspect the screen and replace the oil pump rotor/stator BEFORE any dyno time.

Very good idea about the Pan and screen plus taking a look at the pump! The engine has 6000 miles so the pump should be good

If anyone remembers, To get this done, I did not have enough money and Randall offered to help. Including his discounts, he had to spend over $1,500 out of his pocket and I spent about that much myself. So to do this, we have spent close to $3,000. I knew it would be at least $2,000. Between his discounts and financial help, "I could not have done this at all! Even after what I have repaid him, he still has over $800 in my bike. So I guess this means we will be swapping records back in forth until I cheat and tell him I have to keep the last one for myself? Remember, Randall is only 23 and my Step-Son! This could not have been better even if he was my own son!

Thanks to Reagan, I had the day off and finished the bike (Back into a Street Bike) Changed rear Frames and have a passenger seat ane EVERYTHING! Plan to start riding Sunday. (After about 1 hour of checking!)

No Lie, I could not have done this without him period! (Financially or the discount on the parts. Plus he was always looking up everything to see what the best part was. The real truth is, he and I get along better than me and my real Dad when I was at his age!)

I know you treasure that relatinship.....its a rare occasion that you get to have one such as yours......and its also great that you can have that relationship, and have some of the smae interests....that rocks.....now, whats up with this bike, I wanna see dyno numbers and 1/4 mile numbers......lol
