Not a lot of Fun! Because The engine was on the work bench and too high for me to see the spark plug hole easily, I had to use the top of the spark plug opening, then remove the head and cc the Spark plug opening to subtract from my measurements to get the correct results. Also, with the head off, I must also cc the combustion chambers to make sure they are equal. (I do not feel like checking each and every combustion "Volume" which means with the piston at the top and the head on) I hope to be finished tonight and post the results.
The CC Process! First I had to seal the pistons with white lithium grease.

Next is to install the head and torque it to specs (Using the old gasket cleaned and sprayed) Then make sure it is 100% level in ALL DIrections
Hopefully you saw the Level on top of the cylinders! (Picture now gone)
Mext is to mix the water with food color and use a Burette.

I had to use "GREEN" The Burette with the Menicus right at the "0" Level in the tube.

Then fill (and stir the fluid to make sure that there are no air pockets) so that the Menicus is right at the top of the spark plug cylinder top.

Now that I have done this, I must drain the fluid and seal the top of the Spark plug cylinder, turn the head USD and fill the cylinder so the Menicus is right at the top of the spark plug threaded hole inside the cylinder. Then Subtract the results from the Bottom Piston and Top Piston volume and then divide the large number by the small number to find the compression Ratio (I will do that tonight).
I also want to check my work by CC the cylinder (Piston up and down) then CC the combustion chamber in the head (Spark Plug installed) I CC the Spark plug cylinder here

which should give me a slightly lower compression ratio. The only reason this will work for me is the piston is flat topped and as you can see, barely is above the top of the cylinder. The top of the Menicus (piston at the top and Bottom is exactly the same level becasue of the fact that we are dealing with a cylinder and water that will produce a Menicus convex curve here.

A tireing process, but the only way I can know for sure! Once this is done and the cylinders is cleaned, I will re-install the head and check the piston clearance between the head and valves after checking the degree of the cams.

I Really messed the picture thing up! (Old People on the internet with Digital Camera! I have a 256 Meg card and 32 Meg card and an 8 meg card. SInce the 8 meg card loads very fast, I just kept using pictures there and deleting them. I now know that when I upload the same number, all it does is replace one picture with another!
Anyway I am now experienced
I replaced the exhaust Valve springs and had to remove the seals and shim the springs.

I had to modify my spring compressor when I had 2 valve engines and heavy springs

To replace the seal, I used the valve USD an a small tool Worked great

I found that the exhaust Ports looked different so I made them all look alike

Last, a Comparo of the Cometic and stock! The stock has 2 raised ribs arounf the combustion chamber about 2 mm apart and the Cometic is about 1 MM apart! The Huge difference is the stock is Very smooth around the edges of the combustion chamber and the Cometic is as rough as 36D ROugh sand paper!

One last thing is to remember to replace the Oil tube between the cylinder and head because holding the head in your hand and lowering it on the cylinder and seeing this will not make you happy!
I have the engine back together and checked the Valve and Squish clearance. 0.048" Squish and 0.068" valve
The compression ratio is 11.65 to 1 and on the check test where you see the head USD it was 11.2 to one so I know it is 11.65 to 1. It is now after 3 AM and I am going to bed. Tomorrow I plan to install the engine Later in the day!

The engine is installed, put in a 12 hour day. Tomorrow, Oil fuel, Water and a rear wheel then Varoom!
