Hi INTRA, I always follow your posts because I'm putting a dry shot on my 12. It really sounds like bad luck bit you twice. Do you think the dry shot caused the second problem or did the extra stress from the N2O magnify the damage caused by a possible lack of oil flow by the pickup sucking air?

8 over on the new one, stock one is for sale for $250,hondo,the dry shot was ok,I do think that it did not help the motor much by spraying it in the manner I did with the oil light coming on,there was no plug dammage, nor any top end signs of detonation, but I do not think it was much over a 40 shot,it only picked my mph up by around 6 or 7 in the 8th(since I never sprayed the bike in the 1/4),I would do the dry shot again for sure, just as long as it's small, first things first, these motors need to be built right(crank and rod bearings, more oil pressure/delivery),some aftermarket company needs to step up with a bottom end re-enforcement kit for the 12,or we will continue to have failures, look at Highlands Kawasaki in Houston,Tx,they blow 12's up every time they bring em out, yeah, they go 8.30's at 170+,but at what price.

speaking of breaking in
i noticed someone said that kaw said that the breakin miles was increased to 2000 miles. That sucks, i just got mine last week and because of snow on the east coast, i only have 130 miles, and slipped to 100 mph for about 5 minutes.
anyway, i was reading this link (http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm)and was wondering if any of you had any thoughts on this, much less doing any damage to the engine, like i have been reading thru and seeing photos of
thanks
o by the way, i am brand new here, i just got my siver 2001 zx12r, an upgrade from my '95 zx11d. and on the ride home alone, i felt a great difference ( and had a huge smile on that long ride home )
hoping everyone is healthy and in strong spirits

Not too sure about that guys findings with smaller ports. If his findings were so great, everybody and their brother would be doing the same thing by now. I dont' doubt that the midrange and bottom end wouldn't benefit which may help roadracers, but a lot of us here are more into straight line racing where midrange isn't as important.I wasn't too keen on the 2000 mile recomendations but I don't think I'd be too hard on it too soon. Better safe than sorry. Just my opinion. Welcome aboard!
