Racing cages for $$$$

this was just too funny for me not to pass on....

I have a friend who is has a Doctorate in EE, he owns an 02 9R. Akro, -1/+1 gearing, adj. dog-bones, strap, etc.

His wife works with someone who claims that their mustang puts out 530RWHP, 670 crank HP.
The guys says he can whoop the bike all day long.

So, after a short discussion with my friend, and with me riding the 9, my friend sends this reply to his wife, for the Mustang guy.

quote:
Tell Ralph the Doctor says prepare for a walletectomy. I'll put up any amount of money he thinks he can afford to lose. No less than $1000 and I'll bring cash. We can do this at (edit) on Thursday or anywhere he wants a good spanking. Hell, we can even do 3 runs and let use the best ET. My bike vs his car; quarter mile. Anytime.

no contest.....I use to have a Nova SS, that was about 550 hp at the wheels, and on its best day it would keep up with my 12 in an 1/8th mile, after the first 1/8th, the bike will check out, and my bike isnt strapped or lowered.....lol

OH boy - tell the poor stang owner to wear a dust mask, or he may suffocate when the '12 blows by him and kicks it in his face .

Remember the 800hp viper vs the bike. no way the mustang would even come close to that.

I ran a Viper vs. my stock Gixxer Sixxer. We were pretty close until about 155 - then he started to leave me.

Wouldn't happen on a 12.

This is against a ZX9 right ?

Depending on weight and how the car is set up, 530rw *could* get a Mustang into the 9.90 - low 10sec range @ very high 120s, low 130mph trap speeds. At the track of course, the street is another ballgame.

The betting window has closed Mike!!

Hey Matt, you're right, I have a friend with a 90-something Mustang, ATI supercharged, and with a kick-ass suspension and sticky tires he ran a 10.17 @ 130mph on his 4th pass!! Somewhere around 2800lbs I think, no driver. The car had around 530-550 rwhp I think.

So, this guy needs more HP and more suspension to race me on a 9R!!!

He backed down by the way! He don' wan non dis!!!

10.17 @ 130mph is about all it's gonna go. Just won't make the power to 60' any harder to make the ET. Takes about 132mph and 1.3 60's to run 9s in a cage (generally).
