Carbon with clear coat- vs- without clearcoat

If ya want to flame me now because ya all have read carbon fibre threads all year, go ahead. I've got a thick skin. Any how, Here it goes. It's taken me a year to recover from the initial purchace of a new ZX12R (RED is fastest!) and I hav'nt been able to get all those goodies you all have been getting for the past year until now. I so far have done all the basic mods, pipe, PCIIIR,Filters, now I'm doing the carbon fiber parts!( ya, I'm a year late.) Here's the big question. 1.) How many of you have Hans carbon fiber parts, ( which has NO clear coat), that has had them for around a year, Has the finish been effected by the sunlight? 2.) How many of you have Safetech carbon fiber parts, ( which HAS clear coat), that has had them for around a year, Has the finish been effected by the sunlight? I'm trying to make a decision on which to buy. I plan on keeping my bike for a long time. Your EXPERT opinions will be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Harpoon

All my Hans parts look as good now as they did when new. Just wondering why would some clearcoat cf parts anyway? I would think the clearcoat itself wouldn't stand up to damage as good as the cf parts.

I still wish somebody would make a cf replacement for just the front snorkel. I'd buy Hans whole system if it wasn't for that ugly crease they put on the bottom of it.
