What I want to happen for the 3rd gen 12... I would like to see enough changes to dictate a C1 in Kawi's model lineup...
Weight needs to be shaved off, and it can be.
I also would like to see a more cut up, newer look to it, especially the gas tank.
Black everything! Not a lick of silver anywhere!
For a new paint scheme...the same black in the 10R, not the one with the violet flakes like in the past. A better red too, one that is more Ferrari red.
Of course, this is all asthetics but I would assume performance would take gain as well....AND A BETTER CLUTCH!!!!!!

Ok, this is what you do...
Drop the frame. The 10R frame is a direct descendant of the 12R frame, but shows that you *can* design a frame that allows you to work on the bike and still go 'up and over' with the rails. That would allow a steel gas tank and a conventional airbox/filters.
More sport tour - pimp it out with more info for the user. Ambient air temp, humidity, maybe GPS... All stuff designed to entertain you while doing the 120 mph freeway blasts.
Big problems that aren't easy to fix:
Engine weight - A heavy lump, no doubt. Fook, if you've ever seen one apart, the tranny gears look like they came out of a car. Course, that tranny can handle 300hp, easy...

In fact, maybe the best idea is to consolidate the best features of the ZZR1200 and the ZX12R into a new gen sport touring bike...

Swft, I totally agree on the ZX10 style frame. They already have radial brakes. I want coated fork tubes wither the Black of Gold. Use the smaller Generator and stacked transmission for a longer arm and same wheel base. Last, the 3rd change in the snorkel and we have it. Maybe an underseat exhaust.

hydraulic adjustable rear spring height ala KTM, VStrom, Ohlins, et al...and put me in charge of the instrument cluster ...and a real horn so that we don't have to use our loud-ish aftermarket exhaust systems...unless you're running an Akro....

i'm in the same camp as swft: a touch more comfortable than the existing 12 for touring, a good hard bag option with usable space (not like the corbin bags for the 12), electrical outlets for heated clothing and standard accessory plug (or 2), but at the same time knock the weight down by at least 50 pounds, which i'm sure could be done, and of course improve handling and engine performance a la the 10r. i know saying make it more liek the 10r AND the zzr sounds a bit impossible, but i bet it could be done.

Yah, but if you look at some of the vtwin sport tourers like the Ducati or the Aprilia, they are tons lighter than the ZZR/ST1300/FJR1300.
