Listen to music while you ride
Anyone listen to music while they ride? What kind of earphones ya use that you can hear over wind noise? I cant find any moto mounts for an mp3 player so I dont have to keep it in a jacket pocket...

I put a sliver of velcro on my triple tree...and the other half on the back of a tiny little radio I got somewhere. Allows you to easily get to the controls.
Just about any "in ear" earbud speaker worked fine up till around 120mph or so...then I doubt anything is going to cancel out the wind noise (and fit in a helmet).

Well if you want to spend the money there is a confortable earbud system that will blow away about anything you have ever tried. Its made by Shure. Its actually is a 2 way driver, that is incredible but expensive. Here is the web site. http://www.shure.com/earphones/eseries_e5c.asp You have to try them to really understand how good they are, although they are to expensive for me to buy.
I use a waist pack to hold my cd player/ radio. It has a wired remote that i clip on to the front of by jacket. Works good but the ear buds that i use get uncomfortable after a while of riding .

I saw these before. They are expensive. It looks like they act like ear plugs as well so you don't have to crank up the volume to overcome the wind noise. Wish I had $500 to spend on these.

Hey Beans,
I found another earbud set that is a bit less money but custom designed for you and to be worn in a helmet.

I inadvertently sprayed water into my dresser's radio once and was spoiled with listening to music.I tried headphones and it really disoriented me.I didn't hear the siren from an ambulance in back of me.I would not recomend headphones except on long trip on the highway and not if you plan on kicking it up a notch in speed.Fucks me all up and the name of the game is concentration, for me, on a bike.

I just plug the radio, MP3 or CD player into the chatter box. You can get the double end cord at a chatter box dealer or Radio Shack.
Yeah! you can't really hear it at 150mph but it is great for cruisin' around.

You can get those shures for less than 500 bucks. Lots less. They have the earphones for regular folks and then they have the inear monitors for Justin Timperflake. Those are the 500 dollar ones. I have the regular ones and they are the best headphones I have ever had. I have Sennheisers that are almost as good as the shures. Sony makes a less expensive version of the shures too. But the in ear phones are just that, you put them in and they expand and there is no outside noise coming in.
If they are in right you can snap your fingers next to your head and not hear it. Once in they don't fall out either. Good for highway travel long distance stuff but kinda freaky for in town.

What Angie said....I use my chatterbox and my MP3 player.....the chatterbox works well as long as you dont have a really loud helmet. If your helmet produces a lot of wind noise they suck. But in that case, all communications systems suck....

My mp3 player (Rio)does not have much volumne when played thru my chatterbox. I have to use ear buds for the mp3. Wish it would work with the chatterbox helmet speakers but it don't.

Many years ago I used to have some Sony ear-buds and a walkman that I would listen to. Had a radar detector mount that I would attach the walkman to with a large o-ring, then run my cord for the buds up through my jacket. It was relatively inexpensive and didn't sound that bad. I just found it to be a little distracting at times. Mostly when I was in traffic. Eventually I just quit listening to music while riding. I guess I'm kinda like crotchrocket, hearin' those four cylinders wail is enough music for me!!!
