To cush or not to cush?
I am very interested in the performance machine's Gatlin http://www.performancemachine.com rims for my silver 04 12r. However, they do not come with a cush drive the last time I checked. I frequently road race and like to get up in the numbers occasionally due to force of habit. My questions are as follows:
Would putting the rims on my bike with my explained riding style have an extremely adverse effect?
What kind of effect if any would it have?
Does anyone know of a similar style rim that is chrome that I can purchase with a cush drive?
Has anyone had any luck with customizing a cush drive for a rim that does not come with one?
Sorry so many questions guys but hopefully someone else can benefit from the answers as well.
Thanks in advance!

Did some additional research on my own questions. Maybe you guys can benefit from the answers.
1,2 Would putting the rims on my bike with my explained riding style have an extremely adverse effect? If so what kind of effect?
A guy from PM told me that this product could be used for street use and that it is used by many for racing because of the immediate response that would be experienced without the cush drive. The bad side is that it could contribute to transmission and sprocket wear and tear.
3. Does anyone know of a similar style rim that is chrome that I can purchase with a cush drive?
Couldn't find any similar rim but PM makes a revolution rim that is lighter and comes with a cush drive. It does not come chrome though...Only polished. The rim doesn't look the same either. Totally different design.
4. Has anyone had any luck with customizing a cush drive for a rim that does not come with one?
Found one machine shop in Savannah that claimed they can do it. However, they will not cover any damages that may occur if it is done incorrectly or damages the bike. Sounds to risky to me. Got calls into a couple other machine shops waiting for the answers.

you can get the RC rims, and have them chromed, they are lighter, so it really depends on what you are going for, bling or performance.
if it is bling, then the PM's are very BAD!!! but for a better MOI, and lighterweight with a cush drive the RC's are the way to go.
Main problem with the no cush drive is tranny wear. any extreme down shifts or up shifts are harder on the tranny and all of its components.

Get wheels with a cush drive. The machinists at PM are lazy.
All the best wheels on the market use a cush drive. Dont buy sorry assed PMs... you'll regret it like I did once.

I think the RC's are way above PM"s in quality. BTW I have RC's on my bike. The three spoke Tritons..
