Just bought a new helmet and jacket! Yep, went to a dealership to puruse helmets and ended up buying a sweet Arai and a Joe Rocket Leather jacket. $565 for the helmet and $285 for the jacket, not too bad. Shit anything would be better than the 8 year old Shoei and 12 year old Fielglass leather I had.

what model Arai did you get for $565...the Corsair? I liek my Rocket gear its fits well and held up very well when I lowsided my buddies ZX7R out at Roeblin earlier this year......it blew a few seems, but stayed in tact very well, and is repairable.....

i had a Quantam f and loved it, unfortunately I was wearing it when I wrecked on the track and its toast.....was hoping Chris woudl tell me what model it was....if he got a Corsair for 565, I am buying mine there, 640 is the cheapest I have found it so far.....I havent decided if I want to spend the money on the Corsair, or pick up a RX7.....even the RX7 is running around 500.....the price ya pay to have the best I guess.....

I hate to say it but I don't know the model Arai. I went in just to try a few on and see if I liked any of the color schemes and I saw one that would match the Joe Rocket Jacket and tried it on but it was too small so I asked the woman if they had that helmet in a bigger size and she said no but try the other color on to make sure the larger size fit. So I did and it felt absolutely awesome, I asked her how much and she told me $565 and I said sold. She ordered the right color for me and it should be here from California 1st part of next week. I never even bothered to ask what model it was, it's awesome though for sure. I'd run out and get the reciept to tell you but after I put the jacket in my truck my drivers side rear door wouldn't stay closed so I tied it shut with a piece of rope and immediately went to the dealership to find out the latch is broken. So they drove me back to work, I will check the reciept and let you know monday what kind of Arai it is and take a pic or two of the jacket.

No Tony I didn't go to rec liesure cause I really didn't plan on buying anything today. In retrospect I should have, I noticed they are in their new building now on Grand River. Maybe I'll go check their prices on helmets and if they are better cancel my order.

I also have to buy a Helmet when my KBC is only a few years old and I like it! The problem is I cannot see "UP" well enough with my head down.
The OGK and SUOMY seem to be good in these areas.
Otis, does the "Liner" come out to be washed? That is the #1 thing any helmet must be able to do for me!

The new shop is NIIIICE!! And the prices are usually better than the dealer. Check them out when you get some extra time. How is the fam?

HDL - Z-Two model + $400 more. Special deal just for you. Actually, it can be any helmet, plus $400. The pix really don't do it justice. It puts any Troy Lee model to shame. God Bless America baby! United We Ride!

Chris, I'm glad you finally updated your wardrobe. You were starting to look like Jake the Snake's booty buddy.
But I'll bet that new jacket makes your waist look petite, which shrinks you butt - right?
I can hear it now "Does my butt look big in this?"
I got two rides in my new Shoei X-11 before I toasted it in my big wreck.
I'm batting .666 with it (three rides, two wrecks) - so I'm kinda glad that bad mojo is off of me.
But I'll buy another one. Solids for under ?$400? Thanks, may I have another?

ok. pins are in. by now I'm just tired of the annoying pain. The doc better convince me that the cure isn't worse than the poison at this point. I can't seem to get comfortable - but I could with out the screws. Hopefully that will subside in another day or two.
Going to try to work tomorrow. We'll see how that goes.
Thanks for asking, swft.
A lot of folks have checked in on me and my GF has been very supportive and patient. A little help from my folks helps, too.
I'll be ready to be 'normal' again - or, well, normal as it is for me!
They expect my pins and such to come out in about a year or so.

By themselves??
I know ( or don't) that pain...I was waylaid by an errant buick station wagon. I hit it pretty hard, knocked the motor off the motor mount and pushed it back into the firewall, broke the spindle off the A-frame and laid it and the fender back on the driver's side door. Flew 170 feet through the air and then started hitting cars parked perpendicular to the road. Smashed the fenders around the front tires on about six cars before coming to a rest between the sixth and seventh car. I count EVERYTHING in life as a blessing after that...

OK some corrections, the Helmet is the Astrigal, Tempest and the price was $489.00 not $565. Don't know what I was thinking. Hoping it comes in tomorrow. Tony I stopped by Rec Liesure Saturaday. I woke up the bike and the battery was dead, even after being on a trickle charger all winter, after 4 cranks, she was done. Yes that Rec Leisure is AWESOME!! And close to home, I see myself visiting there regularly.
Question fellas, I got a new battery and it was in a Interstate Battery box, thee was a pic on the front of the box of a ZX-12 and a rider, is that MADMIKE???
