Tell Me about These HID Lights?
Please someone inform me on the HID Lights. Do any of you have them on your 12 or have you seen it on someone else's?

Well of course HID lights are the shiznit, but to get true HID I cant figure out a way or spot to mount all the hardware on a motorcycle, let alone a 12.
That's why I went with the PIAA bulb upgrades, so unless someone else knows of a way to do a true HID install on a bike...

Basically the PIAA bulb upgrades your stock headlight bulb. They are much brighter in my opinion, and its the first thing people see/notice when I'm out riding. When Dino and I compared the stock light next to the PIAA bulb light was sooo much whiter than the stock bulb, so much so that the stock bulb looked kinda like a dirty yellow. I went ahead and upgraded the center wedge bulb as well in order to not have it look off yellow.
The PIAA's are used by a lot of people on this board, and you can get 2 wedge bulbs and 2 headlight bulbs, all together I got them on the net for just under $85 bucks. DaveInDaytona was the one that got me hooked on these.
Dont get me wrong, I want to do a true HID setup on my 12, but I dont think its feasible due to the space requirements for the hardware, etc.
Give me a day or so, and I'll post pics of the bulbs I bought and the details of which ones I got as well.

yeah, the hardware isnt all that big beans. u shoudl be able to tuck it behind the fairings, under the ram air tunnel covers r something.
worth noting that pia's (of equivalent input wattage) are not actaully brighter, we just perceive them as brighter because of the whiter light. this has been covered a few times before, and there's a great page about it linked in previous posts. i'll say this much tho, i really did like the look of the 80/80W piaa super white platinums i had in teh 12 a couple years ago. and they were a bit brighter than the stock 50/60W (about) bulbs, but less than 50% brighter despite the claims of being over twice as bright.
