04 Galaxy Silver 12R ...I was looking at the Kawasaki website and the silver 12R in particular...I dunno how some people even can say that the 12R is an ugly bike...even if I wasn't a die-hard Kawasaki fan I think its a gorgeous bike, especially in that new lighter colored silver...very subtle color and a more refined look than the 00-01...another quandry...if I don't get the 10R, an '04 Galaxy Silver 12R could be my next bike purchase from Kawasaki...full Ti Muzzy or Akro, heli-bars, relocated foot controls, mechanical cruise control, in-helmet sound/comm system, stand-off top and rear side racks for the soft luggage/bags...I like hypersport-touring, 12R style...ya wit me???? ____________ “We sleep safe in our beds because rough men

One thing I am not too sure about yet though is how well I these 2004 models look no longer having the bottom part of the ferring in black. Instead, Kawi opted to make the entire bike one color. Personally, I think those vents on the bottom (to cool the exhaust pipes) look better within a black looking ferring cause they seem like they stick out/exposed on these all one color paint schemes. I dunno if that makes sense...just somethin I noticed.

Hey Worm - my 2000 IS a hyper touring bike. Might I make a few suggestions? Add a Garmin 2610 GPS. There is a great bike mounting kit and wireing harness available here:
http://www.gpscentral.ca/accessories/bike2610.htm
also - get a radar detector . I haven't found a seat with a pillion back rest yet - but that is on my wish list...

BB...I'm liking the solid color...especially in galaxy silver...looks all seriously grown up, ya' know?....like me
deathpulse...I agree with the hyper touring part...like touring in a blindingly fast and capable GT-type sports coupe...the GPS is a great idea...my 'intuition' is the hard-wired radar detector to my brain (this job of mine helps with this intuition of when and where the radar operators will be ), but a real radar detector is also a good tool to have...and I ride the 12R strictly solo and in a suprisingly comfortable (for me) forward crouch, so I don't need a back rest ____________ “We sleep safe in our beds because rough men

If you already have a 12R, then ya, that makes sense. If yer shopping, the ZZR is a better tool for that job.

I had my green one painted silver. Now, I am on the verge of getting it greened again. It just seemed faster when it was green. I was self concious of the green then. Now I am feeling stupid cuz I had it painted over. Oh well. Now I know, Green is better. I agree silver is a more grown up color. They guy who lives next door to me who thinks my bike "looks like trouble" and who complains when I have my one big party a year has a silver mercury sable. I wish I woulda noticed that before I painted my bike silver.
