Check out these nice motorcycle backpacks! OK, even though I'm a student in need of a backpack nearly all the time, there are many other times a backpack is more conveinent then loading up the Tourmaster storage back on the gas tank of the 12. Does anyone else use backpacks?
I have one regular backpack I ride with, and another one meant to hold my laptop....but now I found this...
I was perusing one of the new motorcycle mags at Hastings the other day and I saw this, and I wondered if any of you have any experience with these hard backpacks? They are VERY EXPENSIVE so I dont know if its worth throwing down that much cashola (remember I am poor college student)...check out the pics and the website and lemme know whatcha think.

...my future-think is "ON" and this hard/soft backpack makes me wonder...I wonder if one day we will have leathers or synthetics with truly flexible (where flex is needed) FULL exo-skeletal construction on the outside (or inside) to help reduce bone wrenching, bone snapping, and skin abrading get offs?...that would be badass, huh?

that would be sweet indeed....shoot they should have some sort of satellite wireless capabilities so we can wire in our helmets to Super Sattelite Chatterbox stations, talk within our helmets to any rider we want, and have built in XM Radio as well for those long hauls....
aaah the future...I guess I'll have to stick around and see what happens next.

...yeah but its lightweight stuff meant to move with the dirt and other 'loose' stuff...street gear needs to be heavier duty (tho not heavy) and more stable next to your body...

I wish I could find a good one now; I have to carry TWO laptops AND hand tools/hub & p-s, cables/software/parts/etc....
I want to do field service calls on the bike; but I have to carry too much shit...anyone know of anything that could be carried to haul all that stuff around all day?

sure, just get a set of bags. the safest, most stable solution tho woudl likely be to get a hard case that sits on the pillion seat, or attach it to a rack on the back (like the slick rack ozzy made). u could fit all that stuff easy and aint too expensive either.

EBD...what you really need is a Cathram Super 7...put all yer' stuff on the passenger side...ok, its a cage, but its a raw-fun-in-yer-face cage (well, at least that's what I've read) ____________ “We sleep safe in our beds because rough men

quote:Dave, Have you seen the hard bags from Corbin? They 're pretty nice. I bit expensive but they're designed especailly for the ZX12R...and you can lock them.
I almost bought a set when they first came out; but right now Corbin's in & out of court I hear. Their declaring Bankruptcy Chapter 14 or whatever? Swindeled a bunch of investors/employee's around these parts w/that half-bike three wheel thingie. I guess the seat business is still running, & no I don't know exactly da details of Corbin's charges/status...
I'd like a big fanny pack, or maybe a set of removable bags or something. I wouldn't do it that much, I don't wanna leave the bike at some of these middle/high schools. Only the elementry...Kid thieves have only stolen 70 Dell laptops this year -so far...

i dont think the corbin bags for the 12 would fit a laptop. maybe a real small one. they're not real big, the opening is small, and they're irregularly shaped too.

I saw a set on a BlackBird and I think it MAY fit a laptop. On a trip, I would still have a tank and a rear seat bag but it is nice to have a compartment where you can lock your valuables. I normally do the camping thing as opposed to hotel/motels.
