Which one would you get? Truck or SUV?

Which one would you go for? Which one is more practical in everyday life and our motorcycle lives? For those of you who have both, which one do you find you are more dependent on?

Poll Results:

 4 votes (18%)

the ultimate would be crew-cab style truck with a good bed on it. Full size, towing package, and a stout engine.

if i had kids, it'd be the SUV. you can never have enough room between kids in the car after 14 minutes of a drive. Plus internal stoarage area is better in SUV, i wouldn't have to put my camping gear out in the weather while hauling.

;p

but in ideal world, i'd have more than one vehicle ;P SUV for those nice long trips and really crap weather, an old beater pickup for truck duties, and an AWD car for in town stuff

...hey Will, could a 12R's nose fit under the rear part of the roofline for hauling purposes...that'd be interesting...if not, maybe a 10R/6R...I like the Avalanches...nicer front end treatment than the present fullsize Chevy trucks (although it might look the same at first glance, its 'different' at second glance....'smoother' and not so giant Isuzu origamic looking....

The Avalanche is a nice truck, and personally I would take a truck over an suv. Thats why I pick the new Ford Lightning, I can use it to haul my 12, drywall, lawn and garden stuff, pick up women, and it will still smoke the tires and kick ass. Yup thats the truck for me!

I had a F-250 SD and loved it but I needed more room for my junk and family so I had to get rid of the truck and got a Ex... Looking to upgrade it in Oct/Nov So my vote is for SUV

i like the suv and trailer idea. suv is more usable day to day, and u can haul more stuff on a trailer than in a pickup anyway. easier to load too. plus the suv won't have that lovely "no weight on the driving wheels when unladen" problem. not a big fan of the monster suvs tho. the midsize units are big enough to tow as much as any normal person will ever need, and still reasonable on teh gas (not to mentioned easier to drive and better ride IME).

WOW!...didn't know the '04 2500 Avalanche had the 8.1 litre engine...4.10 gearing...and 37 gal. tank, too...gonna need all of those gals., too...I love it! ...wish it came with the 6.0 litre...it needs the 17" wheels, tho...for asthetics ...still wondering if a 12R could fit in it...maybe backwards to get it under the roofline?...and a very long ramp to flatten the approach...backwards!

Worm, I am not sure, but I dont see a 12 going in the back of an Avalanche...I have 2500HD with the short bed and can barely get my 6RR in the back and close the tailgate. I cant close the tailgate on the truck with the 12 in it. And if you can get it with the 8.1 do it. I am always looking for ways to get more HP/Torque from the 6.0 in my HD....I shoulld have gone with the desiel.

I myself have a Ford f-350 4 door 4x4 with the long bed and diesel motor and I'm very happy with it. I also have a 7x16 v-nose trailer painted to match to haul the bikes.

I always tell christina that I want a truck, but we gave up my excursion and used her (a good friend of ours) F-250 extended cab diesel for our trip to gainsville last year and I am hear to say.. OH MAN did I miss my excursion!! we ran out of room very quick inside the truck! see we sold our trailer to Harry, and had all of our stuff in the back of her truck. The gas mileage was great, but the ride sucked!! give me a trailer and my SUV, and I am set!

Avalanche here.Iwanted something where the kids would be comfortable enough while towing the trailer.Pick-em up trucks have plywood for the rear seat back. It's also easier to get my carcass in and out of over our suv.
